San Francisco was already without cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (foot). It's been a rough start for the defending NFC champions, who are bringing in Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah to help offset at least some of the defensive losses.
While the 49ers won their Week 2 matchup, the increase in significant injuries appears to be a factor in their drop within power rankings.
The 49ers will remain on the East Coast this week, staying and practicing at The Greenbrier in West Virginia before returning to MetLife Stadium this weekend to play the New York Giants.
