49ers activate Javon Kinlaw from reserve/COVID-19 list, sign Jordan Matthews to practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers have activated rookie defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw from the reserve/COVID-19 list. The team also announced that it has signed wide receiver Jordan Matthews to the practice squad. To make room for Matthews, the 49ers have released wide receiver Chris Finke from the practice squad. Matthews worked out for the team earlier this week. The veteran wideout spent last offseason and part of the 2019 regular season with the 49ers. 49ers open practice windows for Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, sign safety Chris Edwards, others

The San Francisco 49ers have signed safety Chris Edwards to a one-year deal. The team has also opened the practice window for two players on injured reserve — running backs Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. Mostert has been on injured reserve since October 24 as he recovered from a high-ankle sprain during a Week 6 contest against the Los Angeles Rams. Wilson suffered the same injury a week later against the New England Patriots and landed on injured reserve on October 31. The San Francisco 49ers are currently scheduled to have a lot of their players hit free agency next offseason. A lot. Thirty-four players are scheduled to become either an unrestricted free agent or a restricted free agent, according to Spotrac.com. Seven more are scheduled to become exclusive-rights free agents.
