49ers-Packers: Jimmy Garoppolo 'feeling good' he'll play but will 'feel it out' throughout the week

By David Bonilla

Jimmy Garoppolo hopes to be on the field when his San Francisco 49ers face the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. The quarterback isn't just dealing with the torn ligament and chipped bone in his right thumb suffered in Week 16. He sustained a right shoulder sprain in Sunday's Wild Card win against the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Garoppolo will be limited in Tuesday's practice. Before heading out to the practice field, the quarterback spoke with reporters and was asked how confident he would play on Saturday. "We'll feel it out throughout the week," Garoppolo responded. "But yeah,

Peter King feels 49ers should keep Jimmy Garoppolo, but first-rounder in trade not unthinkable

The San Francisco 49ers are in the middle of a playoff run, their second in three seasons. They hope to extend their season beyond Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Still, even now, it's difficult not to wonder about the Niners' looming offseason quarterback decision. For many, there is no choice. The 49ers will have to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo, transitioning to the team's No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance. Obviously, San Francisco would like to get something in return for Garoppolo, if that happens. Of course, Peter King of NBC Sports isn't so sure parting with Garoppolo is the best option. "I've had a two-fold opinion about Garoppolo," King told 95.7 The Game's Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto on Tuesday. "Number

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters ahead of Wednesday's practice and said that tackle Trent Williams and running back Elijah Mitchell will not participate. This week, the 49ers are holding three full practices as they prepare to play the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. Williams is dealing with the ankle injury suffered on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Mitchell has been bothered by a knee injury. Shanahan added that Williams is again determined to play, and the coach believes that is a possibility. "I haven't seen Trent yet today," Shanahan said. "I'll see him here in a little bit when we go out to the field, but Trent's the same as he was that game (Week 18 vs. Rams). In Trent's mind, there's no

Video shows Cowboys fans throwing objects on field after loss to 49ers

There was a heavy amount of frustration from Cowboys fans Sunday after their team fell 23-17 to the San Francisco 49ers, as evidenced by a few of them throwing things on the field following the loss. Video from Jane Slater of the NFL Network showed fans throwing objects from the stands as the officials and Cowboys players left the field. Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence can be seen deflecting one of the objects with his helmet. #Cowboys fans throwing things at their own players. Got this sent to me by one. Be better
