The NFL is still trying to figure everything out. The league is creating protocols to keep players and team staffs safe and prevent COVID-19 from impacting the 2020 season. Among those efforts is forbidding post-game player interactions within six feet of each other, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Also gone will be jersey exchanges between players. NFL teams will be forbidden from postgame interactions within 6 feet of each other and jersey exchanges between players will be prohibited during the 2020 season, sources say.Another way the NFL will look different in the COVID-19 world.— Tom Pelissero

Deebo Samuel responds to NFL-NFLPA differences with 'I just wanna play football'

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel last month suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot while running a route during player-organized workouts in Tennessee. His recovery time is expected to approach the start of the 2020 season, and hopefully, not beyond, should everything go well. Of course, that's assuming the 2020 season takes place. The NFL is proceeding as if it will but is trying to be cautious in its approach. The COVID-19 pandemic threatens to derail the league's plans. The NFL has already proposed to cancel half of the preseason schedule.

It took three months, but former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton finally found a new NFL home. The former NFL MVP signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots and will compete with 2019 fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham and 11-year veteran Brian Hoyer for the starting job in Foxborough.
