The loss in Super Bowl LIV left a sour taste in their mouths and motivated the players to seek redemption during the upcoming season. There is no doubt that Trent Williams is among the most athletic offensive linemen in the NFL. The tackle joined the San Francisco 49ers via a trade in April and will replace another athletic offensive lineman in recently retired Joe Staley. It's not often that a team can lose a player like Staley and gain one like Williams. The 49ers offensive line shouldn't miss a beat during the transition, and some might argue that it may have improved with the switch. His recovery time is expected to approach the start of the 2020 season, and hopefully, not beyond, should everything go well. Of course, that's assuming the 2020 season takes place. The NFL is proceeding as if it will but is trying to be cautious in its approach. The COVID-19 pandemic threatens to derail the league's plans.
