The San Francisco 49ers made a quarterback change in the second half of Sunday's game against the New York Jets, replacing injured starter Jimmy Garoppolo with backup Nick Mullens after halftime. Garoppolo took a hit to the ankle early in the first quarter of Sunday's game and hobbled throughout the remainder of the first half before staying in the locker room for the start of the second half. Garoppolo was on point during the first half despite the injury, finishing 14 of 16 for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Mullens threw his first passes for the 49ers since 2018.
