The earliest new San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mohammed Sanu will get onto the practice field will be on Friday. He has to go through the COVID-19 protocols before joining his new teammates for the first time. Until then, he is attending meetings virtually and working on getting up to speed as quickly as possible. Given the constraints, it might be safe to assume that Sanu probably won't play on Sunday when the 49ers travel to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Jets. Not so fast. There were times when San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Kentavius Street doubted whether or not he would ever return to 100 percent. The 24-year-old defender has received rave reviews from teammates for his showing in training camp. "To be brutally honest, I was really starting to doubt myself if I would ever get back to 100 percent," Street told reporters on Monday. "It had been almost two years from

A long time ago, I thought the most unprecedented event in the sports world was Game 3 of the 1989 World Series getting pushed back ten days due to an earthquake. Sports will find a way to endure - through earthquakes, war, a global pandemic and if professional football is played before a couch-bound audience. The San Francisco 49ers will play sloppy football Sunday, but the other NFL franchises will join them. Remember it's been nine months - if not longer - since players were on the field in a live football contest. Forty-Niner head coach Kyle Shanahan will have his men ready for Sunday afternoon, even if the game turns into a sludgy swamp of mental errors, blown coverages, and missed assignments. Indeed, the other 31 coaches in the league are
