49ers activate Richie James from IR, Darrion Daniels, Kevin White from practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers announced that the team has activated made the following roster moves ahead of its matchup on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. WR Richie James activated from injured reserve DL Darrion Daniels and WR Kevin White activated from the team's practice squad Daniels and White are being "flexed" to the active roster and will revert back to the practice after Sunday's game. James sustained a hamstring injury during the 49ers' Week 1 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. That was after suffering a broken wrist in June. He was activated from the non-football injury list on September 3. James is a significant contributor on special teams. He

Former 49ers D-lineman Fred Dean passes away after battle with COVID-19

NFL great Fred Dean, who played along the San Francisco 49ers defensive line for five seasons between 1981 and 1985, has passed away after battling COVID-19. Fred Dean has died at 68, from coronavirus. Bill Belichick, Patriots ready for Jimmy Garoppolo's best, 'well-coached' 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo was once the heir apparent to Tom Brady in New England. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback will face his former squad on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Bill Belichick and the Patriots will be ready. The Patriots head coach has a soft spot for his former quarterback, whom he hesitantly sent to Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers because he wanted Garoppolo to land with an organization he respects. Belichick reportedly had better trade offers from other teams but wanted to put his quarterback in a good situation.
