The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The team issued its first player game-status report for the season. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel did not practice on Friday and has not practiced with the 49ers this offseason since suffering a Jones fracture in June. Samuel is listed as "out" for Sunday. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring), center Ben Garland (ankle), and others returned to practice this week. Both have been listed as "questionable" for Sunday. Three San Francisco 49ers players will start the season on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list. They are as follows: DE Ronald Blair C Weston Richburg DE Jullian Taylor These players will be unable to play or practice with the team for the first six weeks of the season. Blair suffered an ACL injury during Week 10 last season. Richburg sustained a torn patellar tendon during Week 14. Taylor suffered an ACL injury ahead of Week 17. The San Francisco 49ers activated Deebo Samuel from the non-football injury list on Saturday. The team remains optimistic that the second-year wide receiver will be available for its Week 1 contest next weekend against the Arizona Cardinals.
