Quick Notes
RB Raheem Mostert (concussion), RB Matt Breida (shoulder), and DT D.J. Jones (knee) returned to practice.
General manager John Lynch informed reporters before practice that G Mike Person suffered a foot strain on Friday and is day-to-day.
"Person made it through practice, had a little bit of a scare after," head coach Kyle Shanahan said after practice, "but with the x-rays and stuff, going well and he's day-to-day. So, scary at first, but day-to-day. It's a good sign."
While Friday's practice was lively but fight-free, Saturday's practice did have one skirmish. As a result, two Broncos players, TE Bug Howard and WR Brendan Langley, were ejected from practice. No 49ers players were disciplined.
"Yeah, they got into a little scuffle over there," Shanahan said. "I actually wasn't on the field, so I didn't see much of it. By the time I got over there, it was pretty much broken up.
"I know a couple guys got sent in. I was told none of our guys threw punches, so when I see the tape, we'll see if they were telling the truth. Hopefully, they were."
Injuries
S Antone Exum is dealing with a knee sprain and is day-to-day.

49ers defensive fight shows in final practice with Broncos
Takeaways: An air horn blew the fight dead under a minute. No takeaways by the defense but almost every defensive back broke up a pass. DL Arik Armstead had a would-be sack on Broncos QB Joe Flacco. DEs Dee Ford and Nick Bosa made the trip to Denver and are walking around "without hindrance." Garoppolo had one pass intercepted on Friday and none on Saturday. K Robbie Gould made a 55-yard field goal to end the practice.

Takeaways: WR Richie James had a good couple days. CB Tim Harris ripped the ball loose from Broncos TE Bug Howard. CB D.J. Reed broke up a deep Flacco pass. LB Fred Warner punched the ball loose from Broncos WR Tim Patrick. CB Ahkello Witherspoon had the recovery. Flacco hit WR Courtland Sutton on a deep ball against CB Richard Sherman.

Takeaways: LB Mark Nzeocha had a big run stop behind the line of scrimmage. S Marcell Harris recorded multiple PBUs. DL Damontre Moore and Jordan Thompson recorded back-to-back would-be sacks against Broncos rookie QB Brett Rypien. DL Kentavius Street and Arik Armstead recorded several pressures. RB Matt Breida had a rushing touchdown during team drills. QB Nick Mullens connected with WR Deebo Samuel for a big gain. QB C.J. Beathard evaded pressure and connected with WR Dante Pettis. WR Marquise Goodwin had a solid showing.

Spent most of the day watching defense (I'm equal opportunity, if nothing else) but #49ers offense had a strong period late in practice with RBs Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida both breaking free for would-be long touchdowns. Also, Garoppolo hit Goodwin and James for big gains.

On other side, some good work in coverage with pass breakups from S Marcell Harris, S Jaquiski Tartt and CB Richard Sherman. Sherman also just missed a PBU on a deep ball to Courtland Sutton, who made an acrobatic catch. Also appeared Armstead would have had a sack before throw.

Linebacker Fred Warner also continued his strong camp, showing up in coverage and the run game. Read and reacted to a swing pass on third down for a would-be stop to get the defense off the field. Niners very encouraged by his progress entering Year 2.
