Three days after 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan dismissed a report of "friction" between he and John Lynch as "complete bull---", the general manager used two family friendly words to convey the same sentiment. "It's nonsense," Lynch said Friday during an appearance on 95.7 The Game. The rebuttals from the team's power duo came in response to a Bleacher Report article. The report cited anonymous "sources in the team's scouting and coaching staff," who claimed the Lynch-Shanahan relationship was souring two years after they signed joint six-year contracts. The 49ers have a 10-22 record during their tenure. "The notion that we're not working together, it couldn't be further from the truth," Lynch said. "We have a tremendous working relationship. We're great friends off the field. There's a lot of trust. We came in this together and we came in knowing that there would be some tough times and it wasn't going to be easy, but it was going to be worth it. During the NFL owners' meetings, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York noted the significant rise in quarterback salaries in recent years. However, he acknowledged the market value of such players, recognizing that he'll have to sign a substantial check for his young quarterback, Brock Purdy, next year.

Two reported 49ers pre-draft visits didn't end up happening

Despite initial reports, two draft prospects who were set to visit the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft ultimately did not meet with the team. Matt Barrows of The Athletic revealed that former USC wide receiver Brenden Rice and former Oregon safety Jamal Hill didn't end up visiting the Bay Area organization.
Barrows wrote, "Meanwhile, a report in March indicated that USC receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, would visit the 49ers, but he didn't end up coming, according to two league sources."

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall.
