Kyle Shanahan provides injury updates, doesn't rule out Jimmy Garoppolo for 49ers-Giants

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters on Monday afternoon, the day after the team's costly 31-13 victory over the New York Jets, and provided several injury updates. Defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas were not among the updates. That's because the MRI truck the team had scheduled to arrive at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, where the team is staying and practicing this week, broke down on the way there. The 49ers had to send their injured players to a local hospital for MRIs. They are backed up on receiving some of the reports. Shanahan was able to provide the following injury updates. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a high-ankle sprain. Running back Raheem Mostert suffered an MCL sprain

Rapoport says Ziggy Ansah in much better shape than a year ago, provides 49ers injury updates

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported this morning that the San Francisco 49ers are flying in Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah, intending to sign the veteran pass rusher. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN later reported that the 49ers are finalizing a one-year deal for Ansah. The signing will likely become official once Ansah has passed another round of COVID-19 testing. The 49ers are finalizing a one-year deal with veteran DE Ziggy Ansah, per source. Expected to be done this week after Covid protocols.
