Wednesday represented the first time DeMeco Ryans sat down and spoke with reporters since being named the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers in January. He has the difficult task of replacing Robert Saleh, who is now the New York Jets head coach. An even bigger challenge might be stopping the quarterbacks within the NFC West. Not only does he have to find a way to slow down Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray twice a year, now he has to worry about Matthew Stafford being in the division. Ryans was asked about that challenge on Wednesday, and the coach shared his thoughts on each opposing quarterback. Ryans was asked during a media session on Wednesday which players he feels are in a position to make a big leap once the season gets underway. The first player he singled out was defensive tackle Kevin Givens, who has shown some flashes in a reserve role since joining the 49ers as an undrafted rookie out of Penn State in 2019. Givens had 19 tackles and a sack in 13 games last season after playing in just one game as a rookie. "I look at a

George Kittle is confident that the San Francisco 49ers will rebound from last season's injury-plagued six-win campaign. It wasn't long ago that the team was in the Super Bowl, and much of that roster remains intact. Most feel that the Niners' 2019 season was an aberration and that a return to the playoffs is in store for this year's squad. Kittle joined Good Morning Football today and shared why the media should not overlook the 2021 49ers. "I don't know if you guys saw this, but Nick Bosa is coming back, and we re-signed Trent Williams," Kittle explained. "So those two guys are pretty good at football, from what I remember. They're pretty decent. And on the opposite side of Nick Bosa, you've got Dee Ford, you've got Arik Armstead." Bosa is
