49ers' Laken Tomlinson on rookie Javon Kinlaw: 'He's going to be a monster out there'

By David Bonilla

Reporter reviews of San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw during training camp were mixed. That's not necessarily unexpected for a rookie defender, especially one who didn't have a typical offseason filled with minicamps, OTAs, workouts, and face-to-face coaching at the team's facility. Guard Laken Tomlinson is someone who can gauge the rookie's progress. He, after all, had the most experience going against the defender during one-on-ones and team drills. You have some guys on our team

By David Bonilla
Sep 6, 2020

The San Francisco 49ers activated Deebo Samuel from the non-football injury list on Saturday. The team remains optimistic that the second-year wide receiver will be available for its Week 1 contest next weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. "He does have a shot," general manager John Lynch told reporters via a conference call on Sunday. "I know Tuesday morning, we're kind of having a summit with Dr. (Robert) Anderson, who did the surgery, (team surgeon) Doc (Tim) McAdams and our training staff to kind of take the latest look at the scans and whatnot to see exactly where he's at." Samuel suffered a Jones fracture during a June player-organized practice in Tennessee. He has
