The seemingly neverending injury news got worse in a hurry for the San Francisco 49ers against the New York Jets on Sunday as defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas were carted off the field in the first quarter due to a knee injury. Bosa went down with the injury after a first down run from Jets running back Frank Gore. Bosa was visibly in pain on the turf before trainers carted him to the locker room. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters on Monday, the day after the team's 24-20 season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He provided some injury updates during the Zoom call. Fans are probably eagerly awaiting an update on George Kittle, and Shanahan provided one. The All-Pro tight end suffered a knee sprain during the first half against the Cardinals. He left for the locker room just before halftime to be examined. Kittle returned with his teammates in the second half and played for the remainder of the game. "He has a knee sprain. We'll see how he comes in on Wednesday," Shanahan told reporters. Defensive end Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah worked out for the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, but left the team's facility in Santa Clara without a contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The NFL insider noted that the two sides were unable to agree on a deal. The #49ers visit with free agent pass-rusher Ziggy Ansah is over, source said.
