Ouch: Injuries a theme among 49ers’ late-round picks

Kentavius Street won't play in 2018. Marcell Harris didn't play in 2017. And Jullian Taylor barely played in 2015. And 2016. Yes, injuries - many of them significant - were a theme when it came to four of the five players the 49ers selected in the final four rounds of the NFL draft Saturday. The five picks were bookended by Street, a fourth-rounder who tore his ACL on March 31, and Richie James, a seventh-rounder who was limited to five games last year. To varying degrees, their injuries caused the four picks to fall in the draft and the 49ers clearly hope they've landed some third-day bargains.

It is less than two weeks away from the 2024 NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers finally have a first-round draft pick, after not having one the last two years. Who will they select? With the 2024 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter recently identified the ideal top two draft picks for each team. The San Francisco 49ers have 10 selections in the upcoming draft, with their first two picks at No. 31 overall and No. 63.

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week.
"Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote.
