DE Aaron Lynch inactive in potential final game with 49ers

LOS ANGELES -- Defensive end Aaron Lynch won't play today in the regular-season finale against the Rams in what could be the final game of his four-year tenure with the 49ers. Lynch, a 2014 fifth-round pick who is in the final year of his contract, is a healthy scratch for the second straight week and the fourth time in the past six game. Lynch has endured two consecutive disappointing seasons after collecting a combined 12.5 sacks in his first two years. Last year, a four-game suspension for a failed drug test and an ankle injury limited him to 1.5 sacks in seven games.

Last week, it was reported that the San Francisco 49ers planned to host former Kentucky cornerback Andru Phillips on a pre-draft visit. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo confirms that the visit will take place during the upcoming week, which marks the final opportunity for such visits to occur.

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Trent Taylor to a one-year deal, reuniting with the team's former fifth-round draft pick out of Louisiana Tech.
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were discussing a potential reunion with Taylor. The receiver was part of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch's first draft class in 2017 and spent his first four NFL seasons with the team.
