Devin Bush, LB MICHIGAN

"Michigan's Devin Bush named college football's top LB to watch by NFL.com"
By Stephen Pianovich, Land of 10 Staff
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.landof10.com/michigan/devin-bush-michigan-football-top-college-linebacker-nfl/amp
"Bush is the new prototype for linebacker in college and the NFL — not necessarily big, but fast and aggressive. He can blow through the A-gap to wrap up quarterbacks, attack gaps on stretch plays to bring down running backs in the backfield, and get out to the hash to cover receivers."

PFF is also high on Bush Jr.'s draft status heading into next season.
"Bush made plays all over the field, missing only three tackles on 94 attempts while notching an impressive seven sacks, three QB hits, and 16 hurries on 99 rushes," they wrote while listing him as one of only two players to watch at the position heading into next season."

Maybe the most impressive part? He was a first-year starter last season and is hungry for more success after notching 102 tackles and 9.5 tackles for a loss.
"It was my first year starting, so I didn't know what to expect in my first year playing college football at this level, at this productivity," Bush Jr. told 247Sports back in November. "It was one of things I had to just be confident in myself and believe in my training and you know just take it to them."

Linebacker is not a big of a need as this year but the jury is still out on Reuben so no doubt that Lynch and co. will keep an eye on this guy even if its just peripheral.
It's almost time.

Devin Bush, me likey.
Does anyone here know which university is Wu's favorite?

He's a big Ohio State fan. Heard his room is filled with Bosa posters and wears a sweater vest to emulate Tressel his favorite coach.

Got it. Wow, that's pretty cool that he's putting over all this players from a rival team (though I think the term "rivalry" implies a less one-sided win/loss record). These guys must be worth checking out!
"Bush earned All-America honors last season after recording a team-high 100 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception, and eight pass breakups.

"He's just a different kind of guy," Brown said. "It impresses me. And sometimes, everybody's got an opinion on certain things when it comes to wins and losses. But this is a guy that gives you everything he's got, gives it to his teammates, and I think above and beyond."

"A lot of "dudes" on defense could breakout this upcoming season. Is this the best defense at Michigan in the last 20 years? A few good questions to be asking about this Dr. Blitz defense returning all but two players."

Move over bama and the other school.. This defense will break records and handle it's business. This defense is special. The reign is over, new sheriff in town.

I can't wait!! 😈

Michigan Football: Devin Bush and Chase Winovich 2019 NFL Draft stock
by Matthew Bartlett1 month ago
https://gbmwolverine.com/2018/05/08/michigan-football-devin-bush-chase-winovich-2019-draft-stock/

"NFL.com has released a ranking of the top 150 college football players to watch in 2018. There are seven Michigan players on that list, and four of them are ranked in the top 50. Rashan Gary, Devin Bush, Shea Patterson, and Chase Winovich are all rated No. 47 or better. We know that NFL scouts are drooling over Rashan Gary and Shea Patterson, But what about Bush and Winovich?"

"Bush's height may make an impact on his draft stock. On paper he is listed at 5'11" 220, but it's on the field where he displays his freakish talents. If Bush has a comparable season to 2017, I like him going in the first three rounds."

Devin White is the LB to watch.
"Linebacker Devin Bush and defensive lineman Rashan Gary were both ranked by SI in the top 25 of current college football players. Bush came in at No. 25, and Gary landed at No. 9. There's a chance that both of those players could become top NFL prospects with a strong showing this fall."

"As good as the rest of Michigan's defense is, Rashan Gary may be on another level. Gary's 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks last season were great, but he is poised to take another step up in 2017. NFL scouts will have their full attention on Gary when the Wolverines take the field on Saturdays this fall. SI raves about Gary's unmatched skill set."

It's not Wu's bias..
Real deal..

"Bush and Hudson combined to make 185 tackles, 28 for loss, 13 sacks, 17 pass breakups and three interceptions. This is the best 1-2 linebacking punch in the Big Ten and one of the best in America. Michigan loses former captain Mike McCray, but the return of Bush and Hudson should smooth out any growing pains by the new weak-side linebacker."

"The position group is loaded. And Michigan will add to it with freshman Cameron McGrone, the highest-ranked player in the 2018 recruiting class."

"For context, Michigan's starting linebackers had more tackles for loss than Nebraska's entire team in 2017. Nebraska, granted, finished second to last nationally in total TFL, but you get the picture.

Michigan's starting linebackers in 2017 racked up a total of 210 negative yards, roughly 44 percent of the team's total for the season."

Hey Heroism, I heard one of you're favorite positions is linebacker...
[ Edited by Wu-5Rings on Jun 28, 2018 at 12:20 PM ]
"Bush, a 5-foot-11, 222-pound junior, was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and third-team Associated Press All-American selection as a sophomore, registering a team-high 100 tackles, including 9.5 for loss and five sacks. He was a finalist for the Dick Butkus Award, honoring the nation's top linebacker.

"Bush burst on to the (scene) as a speedy, hard-hitting linebacker for the Wolverines last season, and that trend should continue with a year of experience under his belt," writes Bill Bender, the national college football writer for the Sporting News. "He should improve on last year's totals ... in defensive coordinator Don Brown's aggressive defense."
