I like GSP but he would get destroyed by Silva.

A catch weight fight of 177/178 lbs would benefit GSP. If you thought Silva looked skinny at 185, just imagine him at 177. GSP would out weigh him at fight time. GSP would be a Chael Sonnen v. 2.0. Bigger, stronger, faster, and a better striker with equal take down ability. That does not bode well for the Spider.

But with all this said, after seeing Condit's head kick..that's all it's going to take for Silva to stop GSP, a well placed fist, foot, or knee...and GSP would crumble. The again GSP stated he didn't even see that kick coming because of blurred vision in his right eye. But you can say this for any unfortunate soul who takes one from Silva whether they're GSP or Jon Jones. Heck I think Silva would kill a lot of heavyweights, especially the slow and bumbling ones like Frank Mir and Antonia Silva.

I actually think GSP would make 185 just right. He walks around at 195 easy. But to all who think he would get destroyed, I just don't see it as being that easy for Silva. One thing Silva has had trouble with is wrestlers and his weakness seems to be his ground game and IMO that is definitely GSP's strength. GSP knows exactly what to do when hes in his ground game transistions well and has very solid submission defense and GnP.

The thing is, and its why gsp is the fighter I enjoy watching most, is he has no weakness he does everything well also he is an extremely smart fighter. Probably the smartest. He is an absolute artist when it comes to takedowns and ground game. His striking is very underrated. Silva is bigger and more dangerous. It's a fight I'd love to see. I'm not saying gsp would win but I don't see how some of you act like he has no shot.

Damn--I knew he had a nasty hemotoma but wow...must have been the result all those elbows thrown by Condit off his back.
Reminds me of his first fight with BJ when he won but was bloodied up and BJ was like post fight "i'm going to go party, GSP is heading to the hospital.". I was paraphrasing there of course, forgot his exact quote.
What a great fight. Fight of the Year candidate IMO. Condit is no joke of a fighter. The guy is a sponge as far as learning the traits of MMA. Great Muay Thai and very underrated jui jitsu. I knew GSP was gonna be in a war. Great resiliency by the champ to overcome that headkick. Anyone else think Condit got screwed by not getting a single round from two of the judges??

As far as GSP vs. Anderson, I think it would be a very tough fight for both. Anderson would be fighting a more explosive wrestler, and we know he's had trouble with wrestlers. Not only does GSP pose good wrestling, he has very good striking and a motor that can last over 5 rounds. Silva would be in for a dog fight, but he knows that GSP's chin isn't rock solid and his accuracy in his strikes is what could win him the fight.

No one sleep on Johny Hendricks. The guy is legit. He hits like a sledgehammer and hasn't even shown off his top notch wrestling yet. He has said that he doesn't want to fight unless it's for the title against GSP, but I think he needs to fight Nick Diaz or Carlos Condit first.

Hendricks is a beast. How is he on the ground though? I've only seen a few of his fights. All of which I think were KO's

His wrestling is real good. He was a wrestling champ at Oklahoma St, I believe. His wrestling looks similar to Josh Koshcheck's. Very technical, not as explosive, but very strong.
GSP would get beasted on.

Only person to stand a chance against A.Silva is a hardcore roider , father time, or Bones.

Randy Coture is retired doe
I'm not sure that GSP and Anderson will meet. GSP doesn't sound like he wants any of the Spider. You can sense his hesitation as he talks about not being able to alter his weight much.

all fun and games until someone gets raped.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagewriter/ronda-rousey-try-much-sex-possible-fight-171940850--mma.html

"For girls it raises your testosterone, so I try to have as much sex as possible before I fight actually. Not with like everybody, I don't put out like a Craigslist ads or anything, but if I got a steady I'm going to be like, 'Yo, fight time's coming up,'" Rousey said.

I think it's time for a recycle of this thread. It's damn near 6 years old.
