Too bad that stadium is so small. MLB should look into getting a team up there in Sac.

100%
The stadium was built for the minor leagues. Should have been working on getting the A's here permanently years ago.

Sutter Health Park
Capacity: 10,624 (Fixed Seats); 14,014 (Total, including Fixed Seats, Lawn and Standing Room)

Athletics home opener
Att: 13,522.
Venue: Oakland Coliseum.

Yeah, I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Sac and Yolo County have more than enough of a population to support an MLB team.

I think you are correct, especially with the continuing influx of people into the area from other parts of the state.

We absolutely could support an MLB team, the only question is would we?

I think they would if there was a team willing to relocate. The Railyards could support a new baseball stadium and it is close to Golden 1 center to add in to that area

for reference, Cincy has 309k people. Sac has almost double that.

havent been to the A's stadium since Eric Chavez days. Going sunday vs the giants. What's the most ideal parking situation there? At the giants park, I park about half a mile away for $40 and dont want to pay more than $50
Absolutely Sacramento has a strong sports community.
Glad to see the A's won't be losing a hundred plus games again, at least for this season.

Maybe they will continue to surprise in Sacramento next season, too.

Hope they get lucky and get the #1 pick, because that doesn't automatically go to the worst team (White Sox) anymore.

f**k Bud Selig forever.

In "Long Schott," a remarkably insightful book by and about former A's co-owner Stephen Schott, co-authored by the San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea, Lacob talked about his failed 2005 deal to buy the A's from Schott for $180 million.

"I'll never forget it," Lacob told Shea, before describing how Selig not only dismissed the deal out of hand, the commissioner didn't bother calling him back. "So I had the Oakland A's agreed to … and it got yanked from under me. I was really pissed at Bud Selig."

Selig, meanwhile, steered Schott and his late business partner Ken Hoffman toward two men he knew, Fisher and Lew Wolff, Selig's old fraternity brother at the University of Wisconsin, who essentially copied Lacob's term sheet to complete a $180 million purchase.

"Nothing against Joe Lacob. I thought John Fisher and Lew Wolff would be a great combination," Selig told Shea.

I just don't know if enough people up here care enough to support the A's. Theres a reason the River Cats dumped the A's for the Giants. There are far more Giants fans in the Sac area. It will be a cool novelty at first, but making it a permanent location would involve a full sized stadium, and I doubt this area can pack a 35k+ stadium 81 times a season.

Anyone up there that supports the A's are on team #f**kFisher
Hate to disappoint people who think sac won't support the A's, the waiting list for tickets is huge. It's not gonna be a novelty. For us old timers Sacramento has been pursuing baseball, specifically the A's, since the kings got here in 1985. When Greg lukenbill did the March on Baseball, he got hundreds of buses together for the A's/yankees game and sac filled the entire upper deck and a lot of the lower deck with fans dressed in blue. This is a baseball town before basketball. Once MLB sees what we are able to do we might even get to keep this team. Next season is gonna be EPIC

and by the way, F the giants. I hate that franchise.

When the giants had one foot out the door and in Florida already, the A's stepped up and gave the giants concessions to keep them here in the Bay Area. When it came time for the giants to help the A's they gave them the finger. They've claimed the entire Bay Area as their property and with the help of MLB they have blocked every effort of every Bay Area billionaire to buy the A's and keep them in the Bay Area. Joe Lacob still has a standing offer to buy this team. F THE GIANTS, forever.

This. Walter Haas(RIP) may have very well saved the Giants from leaving the Bay Area altogether, the Giants ownership on the other hand did everything they could to shove the A's out the door. f**k those guys right along with Bud.
