It's a good thing. We need the depth, it's only one year. If we don't sign him, we get a draft pick, if we do, we can trade him if we aren't competitive at the deadline.

Lots to like about it. The $18.9 or whatever million he's going to get is not going to prevent us from making other moves.

Gausman had 79ks in 59 innings.

He was pretty damn good. I really like the idea of converting him to a closer, he could be very dominant in that role. But am fine with him being a starter, especially if he's here more than one year.

Supposedly, they are trying for a longer term deal.
