2019-20 WORLD CHAMPION Los Angeles Lakers Thread

Read something that says lebron's contract sets up AD for a 2 +1 signing, which sets up a 10 year max for him after 2021-22.

i thought the max number of years that a team can sign a player for is 5. I really dont want AD till hes 40 lol. Unless that man also ages like Bron.

What the hell hahah ya I'm with TG....no thanks on a 10 year.

Oh are you saying 10 years total? Even then I don't think that's necessary.

That's not what Stoney is saying.

After 2 more years - AD becomes a 10 year vet in the league - So he will be set up to get a max of 35% of cap in year 1 with 8% increases every year.

Max length of the contract is 5 years.

Ah okay. Didnt know about the 10 year vet thing. I know that a player needs to at least play out his first contract, then also be an all pro 2nd team for at least for 2 years, then they are eligible for that max contract. Didnt know they also have to be a 10 year vet though.

That's only for Supermax.

Dudley can sign a 5 year max for $221M (10 yr. vet) if some team is willing to give him that.

So currently - AD can sign a max 5 year deal for 189M and if he signs a 2 + 1 deal - he can opt out after 2 years and then sign a 5 year max for $221M. Now, of course 221M number will be diff. in 2 years. It's based on cap number for that year.

Lol i was just jk about this a couple days ago, but..

Which would be perfect. AD is 26 or 27, so he will be around 34 when this deal would end.

He can want and try to make this happen all he wants, but it just won't happen. Neither is going to ring chase and neither is going to choose Milwaukee to live in. lol

Yes Yes Yes!!! AD signs the 5year deal! Lakers had the perfect offseason!!!

Now, 2021 offseason will be all about keeping this team together while going big time into luxury tax - but lakers can definitely afford to.

This is so big. Lebron signs the max he can possibly sign and AD does the same. I fully expect Lebron to sign one more contract with lakers and end his career there in couple years. If AD and Bron stay healthy - Lakers are gonna be contenders for next 3-4 years easily!

Let's f**king GOOOOOOOO!!!
