Gale Gilbert...there's a name from the past. I remember him well from his time as a starting QB here at Cal. Doesn't mean I'm old, though :-).

What's crazy about the AAF's pace of play is you're used to timing it at the NFL pace, where in between plays you can step away for a sec and know about what time to make it back for the next play. That doesn't work for this league as you're about 5 to 10 seconds off and the ball has already been snapped. I like it - great pace!

Agreed, love the pace of play.
Also the Express's offense reminds me of the 49ers offense under Singletary LOL

Yep after a score I went and took a piss, came back and the other team was already about to snap it for the next drive.

Just like the 49ers O under Singletary, unfortunately. Where is the imagination, the creativity? Makes you appreciate Shanahan that much more.

Wow, complete miss on that challenge, ball clearly hit the ground, surprised that the review official didn't have a better angle.

Richardson getting it across the goal line and a nice follow-up catch for the two-point conversion. Will he ever make an impact in the NFL I wonder?

Ok, in just over an hour we have the 49ers farm team playing, the Arizona Hotshots. I wonder if Heneghan starts at QB for them or at least gets some run?

Yes, after the replays that CBSSN showed, the ball hit the ground before he came up with it, but replay review didn't have the angles apparently, not that it mattered, Memphis got blown out.

Can't wait, will be watching each game, except next Sunday, getting my 2 puppies from Tennessee, might be on the road when the 2 games are played. Loving this new league, look forward to the XFL next year too.

Agreed, this is already helping the football void that comes this time of year after the Super Bowl. What would be a great story is if a few of these guys develop and make it to the NFL and go on to have decent careers. That's what I'm really hoping for, and even better if they're doing it & making an impact on the 49ers.

Agreed 100%, fills a huge void, plus some guys could make it to the NFL or back to the NFL, one kid who had a great day last night was Mekale McKay, former Bearcats WR, I think for the Commanders. I loved Perez coming out of Texas A&M-Commerce, he was the D2 equivalent of the Heisman in 2017.
