Until they can pay the players like the NFL, their talent base isn't going to draw enough fan interest, which in turn wont generate the revenue to make them relevant, especially with advertisers.

The NFL is going to crush them like they've done with every other league that has tried to take them on.

The NFL is going to have to destroy itself before competitors can have any chance to steal market share, and that point is still years off.

they are decisively not trying to take on the NFL (knowing thats a death march)

instead they are trying to become more an ally of the NFL to take cast offs and farm new talent. smart actually

Some of their games are going to be broadcast on NFL network. AAF is really trying and seems to be successful so far partnering with the NFL, not working against it.
Any games on tv today?

Not sure but yesterday both games were streaming on the aaf.com website

Edit to add that one game today is on NFLN and one on CBS Sports Network. Plus Both will be streaming on their website.

I do like that the NFL is on board with this, but really, what's the over under for how many of these guys actually take an NFL snap in the future?

Idk but alot of bets where made on these first games because nobody is really clear on who will be good or the favorites.

It's basically a crapshoot.

A lot of former niners are playing in this league like Quinton Patton, Mike Purcell, Andrew Tiller

Damn no NFL team signed Patton? Wtf

Love having more football to watch in the offseason!
I liked the way the cameras stayed on the field during timeouts and followed the players into the sideline huddle. I also liked the way they took us into the replay booth so we could hear the judges ruling. The pace of the game was a lot better than NFL without all the constant play stoppage to sell us Fords and Bud. That may change if they get more sponsors but it is something the league needs to look into.
are they allowed to hit in this league ? serious question...
