Thurston is also saying this is costing them 291 mil in possible revenue/ 40 in operating income compared to what they were projected to do at the start of the year. Of course there's going to be cuts especially when you weigh in XFL's failures.

Can't figure out why 1 person would want to fund an entire league? Will never work. Each team needs a rich owner. It's like none of these dudes has payed attention to how the nfl works.
-- In a follow-up to a previous headline about former XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck suing Vince McMahon is because when he left the NCAA to take on the XFL job, he was assured that he would be paid in full even if the league folded and in fact, this was reportedly one of the main reasons he decided to leave his old job. A day before the XFL ceased operations, Vince McMahon sent a letter to Luck firing him and outlining a number of reasons why he was being let go.

-- In court filings, the XFL actually didn't lose as much money as expected. While Vince McMahon sold about $389 million of his WWE stock to gain the funds to start up the XFL and that he invested a total of $500 million. According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, at the time the league folded, Vince technically only lost $44 million. McMahon also technically loaned money to the XFL rather than personally investing in it, so he is now listed as the league's top creditor.

-- It was also noted that after "screwing" Luck and multiple employees, including all the companies he worked with, by declaring bankruptcy, Vince McMahon's stock in the sporting world has fallen and his reputation has also taken a beating with a lot of thinking that he's just not trustworthy with his word.

Ran by a scum bag. Glad he failed again.
According to Dan Primack of Axios.com, the XFL is searching for a buyer, with investment bank Houlihan Lokey managing the process. Letters of intent are due by June 12, with formal bids due by July 6.

The XFL claims that it would have generated $46 million in revenue during the 2020 season, which was cut short due to the pandemic. The games had average attendance of 20,000, along with 1.9 million average viewers during TV broadcasts of the games.

I still don't get why they gave up. Yes coronavirus f**ked things up but it was looking good and attendance was increasing every week. Hope AEW Tony buys it. That would be epic

Is Vince McMahon trying to buy his own XFL out of Delaware bankruptcy court? The XFL's creditors seem to think so, and sources said XFL president Jeffrey Pollack has called venues in St. Louis and Seattle about reinstating the lease agreements.

Vince McMahon could be looking to buy back his baby … at pennies on the dollar.

The Athletic is reporting the WWE boss is looking to purchase his fledgling league out of bankruptcy. McMahon is looking to buy back the XFL at a "fire-sale price," says the report.

Why?

… in a series of court filings, the XFL's unsecured creditors expressed concern that the league declaring bankruptcy could've been a "cutthroat finance ploy by McMahon to ride out the (coronavirus) pandemic and resultant economic turmoil without paying the costs of operating the league … (and re-acquire) the debtor at a fire-sale price."

McMahon has also been sued for North of $23 million by Commissioner Oliver Luck, who was fired.

it's a pretty a*****e move of him to not pay all those people and now rebuy it back for a much cheaper price.

hopefully someone else saw the potential with the XFL and can buy it instead of Vince.
