Yeah, I deliberately left punters off the list. Aussies with AFL experience have a long history of contributing in the NFL. (It's a specialist skill-set that translates well to the NFL)

I also left out Aussies who played football in Oz & are on football scholarships in college.

I was giving Hayne credit for leading the way for true code-hoppers. The talented guys who excel at the domestic sports we play, but have a desire to pursue an American football career. It's a hard decision for guys to leave behind guaranteed millions for a crack at the unknown. Hayne really led the charge for athletes in Oceania in that respect. (I say Oceania as there are former English Premiership rugby players also following a similar path)

Hayne's biggest problem (Outside his massive ego) was always his age. But, young guys like Holmes at 23, have a much higher probability of success. One day I'm sure someone will pull off the difficult feat. (Maybe it will be Holmes?)
