Adam Silver is expected to take the NBA in a more innovative direction when he takes over for David Stern as commissioner on Feb. 1.
One idea that has been floated is a elimination tournament involving the four teams with the best record at the All-Star break.
The games wouldn't count in the regular season standings, but would create an entertainment boost to begin the second half.
The tournament would presumably take on a guise similar to special cups that club soccer teams play for during the season.

Wow.
... http://sports.yahoo.com/news/knicks-bench-j-r--smith--but-nba-s-clown-prince-will-be-back-soon-enough-055612473.html
Woj destroyed JR Smith lmao. Called him a fake suburban wannabe gangster
I find Woj character assassinations amusing but highly unprofessional and downright petty.
He rights sports articles as if he's posting on a message board...jeez

Yeah, the risk of injury I think would prevent this. Dudes get paid too much and the tourney would be meaningless. Why would fans really care about that?
