Fights dont happen often enough to change anything. In this day and age of free agency, the players are mostly all buddies. I think fights used to be way more common in the 50's-80's. Its too bad they dont keep track of that kind of thing...
The problem with last night was that Kennedy threw at Greinke's head. Otherwise it wouldve been a normal shoving match.
Although Kennedy started it by hitting Puig, i think the Dodgers instigated the whole thing by retaliating. You can clearly see Kennedy is upset after he hit Puig. It wasnt intentional at all. the Dodgers decided it needed to be escalated the next inning.
Greinke had no choice but to retaliate. Their young star took a pitch off his face and Greinke would have lost the respect of every teammate on his team if he didnt do something about it. He did it the right way by hitting Montero in a spot that would not injure him.
The blame on this fight rests on Ian Kennedy. It was over but he decided to go head hunting with his pitch to Greinke.
