Sucked that Italy couldn't sub a guy in and had to play short. Of course, their own fault, but it woulda been nice to see if they could have put one in and made things a little more exciting.
Congrats to the Spaniards.

Outplayed Spain? Not sure about that. It was a pretty even game. Torres missed couple of easy chances to put Italy away. .

Spain really poured it on tonight, right up until the end. I like how they didn't just lay back and defend. They had the "killer instinct." They just wore Italy down. Amazing.

We were the only ones to make them uncomfortable the whole tourney (croatia did pretty well also). It took until the second half (when all the defenders had yellow cards) to finnaly put the pressure on.
At least we lost to the eventual champs....again. fuuuuuuuu

I agree - Portugal gave Spain the most problems. But, I'm not sure I can say Portugal should have won - especially with 2 days of extra rest, they should have caused even more problems. When OTs came around, Spain was the attacker and looked like scoring a goal. Of course, I'm biased towards Spain - but IMO the better team won in the Semis.

We were lacking a "#10" (Danny) and a quality striker, which as always been a problem area for us since Pauleta left. but he was a small time player anyways always disappeared in the big games.
I agree that Spain deserved to go through because their quality of chances they took were better and when we had ours we wasted them in the worst way lol Every damn shot was in the 20th row of the fans.
Nelson Oliveira is still too young and Postiga/Almeida are backups at best.
Im hoping that Ricardo Vaz Te from West Ham United keeps up his current from that helped the hammers into the EPL keeps it up cause he already looks like Portugal's best striker.

Congrats to the historic Spanish squad. Far and away, the better team on Sunday. After the 2nd goal, I was disgusted for about 5 minutes, knowing it was over, but it actually didn't sting as much as I thought it would, perhaps because of the massive improvement from the '10 WC. Still, plenty of reasons to be proud of Italy's performance through out; tons of excitement, for sure. I'm not looking forward to the day when Buffon and Pirlo hang up the cleats, two beloved, pivotal players, but I'm thrilled to see Super Mario stake his claim on the future.
Forever Azzurri!
Ciao.
