So let's say if TB were to offer Will Myers for Hunter Pence, you would rip the front office for trading Hunter Pence?
Think of it this way if there is a GM that would give up a talent like Zach Wheeler for a rental OF like some GM did in 2011, you got to pull the trigger and the Giants would have the entire off season to figure out the OF situation for 2014 and beyond.

.... What GM would make that trade? (From TB Perspective?)
Doesn't seem likely.

Of course it's doubtful, this was just a hypothetical response to a previous post which you said we better not trade Hunter Pence.
At least for me and probably with many others is we better not trade Hunter Pence if no GM offers a high end prospect. If a high end (Top 50 rated prospect) is offered in a trade proposal for Hunter Pence, you got to make the deal.
If the offers offer prospects with ceiling of being low end starters to high end back ups, I would prefer to hold onto Hunter Pence

TB would be high to offer that deal. Wil Myers is a future star. We arent going to trade Pence because it would basically be telling the fans that "we give up". Pence is a popular player both among fans and on the team itself. Im pretty sure hes very interested in staying here longterm.
Being a seller is for a team in rebuilding mode, not one whos having a rough stretch after a WS title season. If we trade anyone on the 25 man roster it will be a guy like Lincecum, who isnt of great value right now, and will be leaving as a f/a anyways this offseason.

Again this was a hypothetical response to Garcia where he says we better not trade Hunter Pence. I should have used the name Zach Wheeler as a better example, that if a GM from another team offered a Zach Wheeler type prospect with a high ceiling, it would be worth trading Hunter Pence like some other GM did back in 2011 for a different rental OF

You honestly can't be giving up on Cain? This is the first time in his career he's struggled. He's been one of the most consistent starts in baseball for the past 6-7 years.
some of these true "fans" give up on quality guys that have been struggling recently. just sad

So Hanley's stupid move isnt showing people up to begin with? Were breathing down the Dodgers' neck. I dont see why we cant celebrate a win over them with a little shot here and there.
