Thanks for the update on Brown ghost. I am glad he is hitting, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a few games shot. Some guys are super fast, but horrible baserunners. Thats probably him.
Btw, Brown hit another HR tonight in Fresno...that's 5 HRs in his last 8 games.
He also went just 1-5 with 2 strikeouts. Giants dont need him to hit homeruns. They need consistent contact and a much better OBP
He's hitting over .400 in his last 10 games and in that stretch his OBP is around .430. I think they'll take the 1-5 tonight given his recent production.
Im glad to see the little surge but I wont get too excited until he does it over 2 months. He still just has a .294 OBP in the league where hitting stats are almost always inflated.
I also think it's important to look at how a guy is trending. Brown was awful to start the season, with an OBP of .255 in April but since then, went .307 in May and is currently near .340 in June. So the good news is, he's heading in the right direction.
Like I said, glad he his having a little surge. However, there is not a chance that I would bring him anywhere near a major league field right now. He needs to play the entire season at AAA. If the Giants call up anyone it should be Kieschnick... not Brown or Peguero.
