We got great prospects for both of them its just a matter of winning in a few years rather than now.
That gio trade was very good for us and the cahill one wasn't bad

The A's have always been my second favorite team, but they are SO hard to watch. As soon as their prospects get good, they trade them for more prospects. The way this franchise is run is a joke. If someone was to ask me to pick the team most worthy of being contracted, it would be this team.

f**k the a's and their stupid ass ownership. Man up, finance a stadium, earn revenue, and keep young studs like Cahill and Gonzalez. If the Giants can privately finance a studium, then how come the A's cannot do it. I know it's not a popular thing to do but it must be better than trading your very young players and losing fans. For heaven's sake, the a's fans are jumping ship to our side of the bay now and that makes me

Its not their fault its Bud seligs fault he hasn't given them an answer to their stadium request to move and they asked him 3 effin years ago. If he wasn't taking his sweet time the A's wouldn't be operating like they are know.
Every A's fan should hate selig with a passion just listen to A's fans' radio show like Chris Townsend he can't stand the man.
Selig and the MLB have really screwed us, everyone knows our colliseum is the biggest peice of s**t in the MLB.

The A's have tried to go after big names like Adrian Beltre or Rafael Furcal in the past and believe it or.not they threw money at them but they don't want to play in a piece of crap colliseum.
Beltre took less money to go to Texas and furcal took the same amount from the dodgers that we offered him. No one wants to play in that stadium and the A's are going to suck and will be operating like this until they get a real stadium.

Its not JUST that you guys need a new stadium. I mean, yes you guys do need a new stadium, but it not the ONLY reason you guys arent a good baseball team. As far as trying to sign Beltre and Furcal, again, its not JUST because your stadium sucks. Its because your team does as well.
In the early 00s, all the stars aligned and your young studs all were good at the same time. But you have ALWAYS had a problem of not being able to afford your top talent. Once its time for your good players to get paid, they are gone. Or they are traded before, knowing that you couldnt afford them. Its a management/ownership issue.
And lets be real. The A's fanbase isnt what it used to be. Just because your stadiums sucks, doesnt excuse the fact that there arent many fans in attendance.

How does MLB NOT contract the A's? There's talk that they are still trying to trade Bailey as Suzuki... Why would anyone attend a single game next year that isn't against the sox or yanks? It's whack.

Ya I agree but the stadium is the major issue. Having no money is another issue. Being in oakland is a major reason why they're poor and won't spend money once they move to SJ (if they move there) that issue for the most part would be resolved. Just look at the marlins
And I agree with you the A's have a s**tty fanbase there's no argument to that. But their fanbasew would get stronger with a new stadium in San Jose.
I'm not saying the stadium is the only reason they suck but its a huge reason. And ownership is being cheap and supposedly saving money to spend big when they get their stadium.
Its a really ugly situation and the A's are a very pathetic team and business right now :(

Honestly I'm not even planning to go to a game this season because they're showing me that they don't care about winning right now. Its really frustrating because its the same crap every year, we get a great player and trade him for prospects that prospect becomes a good player and we trade him for more prospects blah blah and the A's are a below .500 team for the season and it happens again and again
But this season has no doubt been the worse which is why I'm not planning on going to a game. I've went to games including every homeopener the last 3 years. I would wake up at 4 am to watch the game when they played in china or Japan for a couple games. I won't do that this team its just not worth it they're pathetic right now

Maybe if our stadium wasn't a dump we'd be able to compete. No free agent wants to come here BECAUSE of the stadium. There have been many reports about how certain players have us on their no-trade clause, not because we're a bad team but because of our stadium.Oakland doesn't want to get serious about a stadium. The A's asked Bud Selig 3 YEARS AGO to let them know if we could move to San Jose, and he has yet to get back to them with a yes or no even though he has said many times what a dump our stadium is.
So basically, we have to trade away any trade chips for prospects so we can try to get a good team of cheap players all in the same window so we can have a chance to compete for a title. The first rebuild didn't work, so we tried it again. The second rebuild didn't work so now we have to trade away Gio, Cahill, Bailey etc. to try and see if the third time is the charm.
We don't even have our own TV network for Chrissake! How are we supposed to compete with the Angels and Rangers who just signed massive billion dollar TV deals? It's not like MLB has done everything they can and the A's aren't holding up their end of the bargain, Bud Selig has royally f**ked us over time and time again and the longer he keeps us in territorial right purgatory, the more that continues.

-Cry me a river. If ownership wants a new stadium, privately finance the damn thing. It may not be popular, but follow the Giants motto. They had to make that s**t happen, San Fran did not have its back. If Selig won't give you an answer, make your own solution. I blame ownership for not taking a proactive approach. They are trading CHEAP YOUNG players for players who are like 3 years younger than themselves. It's not like Gio and Cahill are in the last year of their deals; they are relatively cheap for the amount of money owed to them relative to their talents. They are bargains and the A's "cannot afford them?" So as far as I am concerned, the a's fans need to quit the b***hing and blame ownership 100%

They are privately financing a stadium. They need land though.
