He should have, but in the long run not hiring a new GM in 2015 allowed us to get Lynch and Shanahan in 2017, so sometimes you luck out because you made the wrong move earlier.

He was wrong and we went thru 2 sh* coaches as a result. Chances we were sinking anyways especially after everyone retired/ or went nuts but JH earned the right to burn out on his own. And saying it led to Shanny/ Lynch is off because we could of hired them anyways if JH flopped down the road.
But hopefully Jed learned his lesson and sees that Super Bowls aren't guaranteed. By the looks of things Kyle might find himself in a similar place of falling just short.

Yup. Read through all the comments declaring how losing a super bowl is the worst thing ever and now shanny did the same thing. Lol
Hopefully Jed learned a lesson.

Shanny lost to a team that was at least on par with his team not inferior however. Hell if I recall correctly the 9ers were the underdog this year.
Patrick Mahomes is slightly better than Joe Flacco too.

Harbaugh's team was better, yes. They both lost the super bowl and that was considered blasphemy. Thats the point. All the winning prior to that was dismissed.
I for one am proud of the season and that we made it to the super-bowl even though we lost. I was wrong about shanny.

Was more losing to an inferior team where the 9ers were completely unready to play to start the game.

We were better than KC and he choked. We gave away the game. Second time he's done that too. No need to overreact see Reid but we had no business losing that one and he found a way.

Perhaps this team was slightly better then KC. The 2012 49ers were far and away better than Baltimore and they got schooled by Joe freaking Flacco. There is no comparison to getting beat by Patrick Mahomes and Joe Flacco. If not for the damn lights going out the 9ers get blown out by Baltimore.

KC was favored by 1.5 points, which means the objective viewpoint was that the teams were pretty even with KC the slight favorite. To suggest SF was clearly the better team is to ignore the perception. Mahomes made the plays because he's a great player. No shame in that.
49ers were favored by 4 against the Ravens.
Going just by the oddsmakers, the Ravens loss was more of an upset than the Chiefs loss (which technically wasn't an upset).
The final score of the 49ers-Chiefs game is misleading as well because KC was gonna likely gonna run out the clock and win 24-20 if not for the long TD run. Game was over at the point on that TD he got the 1st down. With just 2 SF timouts left it would have been all kneeldowns if he gets tackled after getting the 1st.
In any case, both disappointing losses, but the loss to the Ravens was more problematic from a team matchup perspective.
Flacco, BTW, had one of the all time great QB performances in the playoffs that year. He caught fire and had his career best month at the wrong time for SF - and Indy, Denver, and New England. The Ravens beat a Luck led Colts, Manning led Broncos and Brady led Pats just to get to the SB.

Vegas isn't making a prediction they're setiing the line for even action. We were sh on all season by the general public so KC gets the points. By Vegas logic TB, Cin should of beat us. Fact is though we had the better record, far better d, and just short on o with a superior run game. And if you watched the game we were clearly better. No excuses. Was KC better than Blt sure I'll give you that. It doesn't make up for blowing a 10 point lead to KC after Mahomes was picked. You want to talk win probablity we're at like 95% chance of winning. We choked the game which is the 2nd time the wizard was held to 0 in the 4th in his biggest moment ever.

Kyle can't make the throws for Jimmy. They were there. Guys were open. His play in the 4th was far more disappointing.

Jim Harbaugh wants to overhaul the rules of college eligibility of when is the right time to turn pro and enter the draft, as this letter shows. Baseball and hockey already have changed, and basketball is about to change, and Harbaugh wants to empower the student-athlete. pic.twitter.com/lQLb10H8SR
