I've seen a lot of people come to the defense of Spikes (including Ealey), saying, "Oh, it's just part of the game!"
How is that part of the game? I hear it all the time in baseball as well, when someone gets beaned by a 100 mph fastball because the other team's pitcher hit someone else.
It's ridiculous, guys could have their careers ruined, but people defend it because it's already been happening.

That was a p***y move by spikes and that has no place in the game
I lost some respect for him since that incidence
trying to intentionally hurt a guy and possibly end a career
b***h move and Urban Meyer pulled a b***h move too only suspending him one half.

I agree it's a b***h move. What if he had caused some serious damage? Intent is just as bad as actual harm in this case imo. And the fact that he actually did it just shows to me he must be really stupid. There's a difference between getting an extra shove in and putting your fingers in his facemask for what looks like at least 5 seconds! Stupid ass

I don't understand Meyer either.. Suspended one half??? What the hell kind of suspension is that?
To me, not only is it saying that Meyer doesn't believe Spikes did anything wrong, but also that the defense is going to need him the second half of the game against Vanderbilt.. Why would you suspend a player only one half? Makes no sense to me.

To me, it seems that Urban Meyer is more concerned with winning than teaching/ stressing the right lessons.
I remember Cal suspended 3 players (D.Jackson, Thomas Decoud, and another) for 1 half because they missed their curfew.
Gouging some ones eyes out and Missing a curfew get the same punishment (yeah different coaches, but still)

I think he should have been suspended for 2 games - not 1 half. That is a joke and basically sends no message to the kids at all. You just have to question a guys character when he does something as flagrant as that.
