Its just pathetic. Then to make it worse they have the gall to ask the people of New York to give them an interest free loan to fund their damn stadium.
The economy sucks, people are hurting, and the Yankees can spend 1/4 of a billion on 2 pitchers and then ask for hand outs. I dont wish for injuires normally.. until now anyway.

you shouldn't wish for injuries but a salary cap a minimum and a maximum cap so they cheap teams don't get away either

The MLB has no one to blame but themselves. They've had plenty of chances to install a salary cap and hasn't done so, so you can't blame the top teams such as Boston, the Chicago teams and the NY teams for taking advantage of the rights the MLB gives them over the smaller market teams.

No, the Yankees fan base is what makes them their money. Start winning some games and maybe your team will eventually start reeling in fans.

Damon Advised A.J. To Pick Yanks Over Red Sox
Providence Journal - The New York Daily News has reported that outfielder Johnny Damon advised free agent pitcher A.J. Burnett to choose the Yankees over the Red Sox.
"Johnny talked to A.J. about New York, the differences between New York and Boston, how he views it," a Yankee official said. "Johnny couldn't be happier here, and he communicated those thoughts to A.J."
Alex Rodriguez also reportedly helped recruit Burnett to New York.

Lofton Tried To Convince CC Not To Sign With New York
New York Post - Kenny Lofton was out of the game in 2008, but recently he tried to hurt the Yankees again when he attempted to dissuade CC Sabathia from signing with the club.
"He painted a bad picture of New York and the Yankees," a person with knowledge of the situation said. "A lot of negative things."

Kenny Lofton sucks at baseball. He should shut his face before I f**k it.

Yanks Trying To Get Bill Hall From Brewers?
New York Daily News - The Yankees and Brewers continued discussions on a trade involving Mike Cameron and Melky Cabrera on Monday, but New York could be trying to get Bill Hall in the deal, as well.
Over the weekend it was reported that Milwaukee would also get pitcher Kei Igawa in the swap.
However, Hall is owed $6.8 million next season and just under $25 million guaranteed over the next three years, so his inclusion would complicate things even further.

Yankees 'Love' Idea Of Signing Manny
SI.com - The Yankees reportedly 'love' the idea of bringing Manny Ramirez to New York.
They are on the peripheries of the Mark Teixiera negotiations and if he returns to the Angels, then Ramirez's potential asking price goes down in their eyes.

The Red Sox and Rays are f**king toast.

If Teixeira goes to Boston then Manny will likely drop his price because he'll mainly be a DH and he'd want to kill Boston all year long.

Manny isnt going to drop his price for the Yankees when he knows they are idiots when it comes to money and will overpay any top FA. If Tex does go to Boston the Streinbrenners will panic and pay whatever it takes. Im guessing 3 years 90 million would be about right.
