Boner jumping two weight classes to fight Lil Mac Paulie Malignaggi at the Barclays

I wanted him to fight Garcia/Khan/Matty Ice/Lamont
Hopkins pulling the Alex Smith dink and dunk O against IBF LHW champ Cloud and is about to re-gain a LHW title
Nard broke his own record and becomes the oldest man to win a world title

Want him to fight Khan 1st, then Lamont, then Garcia (each fight would be a headliner and would get any day! nfortautely, who is matty ice? Been drinking tonight, lol). Finish up junior welter and let Paulie get better numbers @ Barclays and they can both put up a sensational bout

BHop is 48 years old. I can't believe that he's still beating quality opponents

Overrated Mayweather meh.

There are so many up and comers that could stomp on Floyd but they ''don't do numbers'' so that's Floyds' excuse.
Whatev.

I'm somewhat done with the whole Mayweather thing, but he does get the world talking about boxing again so that's good. Looks like I'll have to resubscribe to wack ass Showtime again lol

Who do you see beating Floyd right now?

Pac with heart and fire,
a healthy King Serg,
a Marquez who trains FOR floyd and not ''balance'' this time with a PBF on weight.
Maybe Macklin, Rubio,Canelo, Ward, Garcia...

PBF has struggled against an old Mosley , Zab, Ortiz,.. He's certainly beatable.

Serg and Ward are too big to fight PBF, and if they dropped low enough they wouldn't be effective. Talent wise, I feel Ward is the best fighter in the world, but thats just me

Macklin and Rubio? Really? C'mon MAYN!!!!!!!

As for Garcia, Canelo, Pacman, and Marquez, I can see where you're coming from, but here are my Pros and Cons for each:

Danny Garcia
Pro: Good speed/strength combo, is very young and great technique. Can handle a technically sound fighter like PBF

Con: Doesn't have PBF's experience. Also, PBF is light years better than an old Morales and an overhyped Khan, so not sure what Garcia would do if PBF starts nailing the counterpunches.

Juan Manuel Marquez
Pro: Finally knows how to fight @ welterweight. Looks strong and always one of the most talented fighters anyway. Now has knock out firepower (see Pacman KO)

Con: How much was his win vs Pacman his technique, or was it more vendetta based? Also, anyone who saw the fight, Manny was looking stronger and winning the fight. If Manny wasn't so careless, would JMM had survived a full 12 rounds at that pace, and even if he did, would he have earned a decision the way Manny was fighting?

Canelo Alvarez
Pro: Young, strong, and getting better every fight. Matches up well vs PBF style wise. Would be one hell of a fight!

Con: Similar to Garcia, has Canelo fought ANYONE near PBF's level? PBF would probably be the fastest guy he'd faced, and could he handle to be patient enough to not fall prey to PBF's shoulder roll and counterpunching? Canelo's best bet would be to land a power punch or two early in the fight, similar to Cotto's 5th round power punch in the face.

Manny Pacquiao
Pro: Very fast and super strong. A rematch vs JMM is a must to rebuild confidence, and if he wins PBF should fight him for a HUGE payday.

Con: Manny has looked slower and is coming off the worst loss of his career. If he can't handle is business vs JMM, there's no way he can handle PBF. His legs have been so-so, and there just seems to be a lack of "killer instinct" in his last few bouts.

One dark horse would be the winner of the Peterson/Matthysse bout. Both are @ a point in their career where they are young and strong, but just need more "high profile" fights. Both could be great match-ups, but probably will never happen.
good post my dood. What are the pros and cons of PBF and da ghost?
So nobody saw the Tim Bradley war with Ruslan Provodnikov

you know I saw it...
that was good ol fashioned war

Thought for sure ruslan was going to put him out. That had to have been a record for combined skull weight in one ring.

Haha what do you guys think the Brandon Rios?

on 1 hand he acts a little childish but he backs up his talk.

Going for alvarado.

I like Guerrero's chances of making this a fight for PBF, but I just don't see any way Ghost can succeed against PBF's style.

His best chance would be to work the body to try and tire PBF, which hasn't happened in over 40 fights so why now? Simple math:

Jail time + Less training - Spotlight = Aging

Guerrero also has the confidence of succeeding @ the welterweight level prior to this bout, which differs from JMM's try @ PBF. This will be a great fight, and I kinda would like Guerrero to win (one of my friends grew up near Guerrero in Gilroy, and also trained @ the same gym, tells me he's just a great person overall), but PBF just knows how to win...

Bam Bam is probably one of my favorite boxers. He's goofy and aloof, which can lead to some headaches (see issues with making weight), but when he gets into the ring, man oh man, there will be quite a show! I think he'll win again vs Alvarado, but unfortunately I don't think it'll be quite as good as the last one b/c alvarado won't try to go toe-to-toe with Rios again, probably focus on out boxing vs out brawling.

If Rios wins, I know this might not be a sexy pick, but I would LOVE a fight between him and Ortiz. These guys seriously hate each other and I think would bring out the best in both fighters. If not, maybe a matchup between one of the Argentinian brawlers (Maidana, Matthysse) for a belt?

Yeah. Didn't expect to see Bradley come after Provodnikov like that. He paid the price but the gamble worked. Provodnikov got winded early in the fight.
Can't believe HBO is doing this.

Due to Golden Boy Promotions' cozy ties with Showtime, HBO Sports President Ken Herschman announced today that the network will not buy fights from Golden Boy Promotions. In recent months, most of Golden Boy's fighters have moved from HBO to Showtime.

"In order to achieve our goal of the best fighters in the most compelling match-ups, we've decided to focus our efforts and resources on those strategic relationships where we better share common goals and business philosophies," Herschman told Yahoo.
