I have the 49ers with at most $4.5M to $5.5M when the season begins.
As for 2022, they'll likely be about $7M over the cap when factoring in the top 51 rule, but luckily there aren't many big name FAs we need to bring back now that Warner is locked up, but Bosa, Deebo & Dre become extension eligible in 2022.
The notable FAs after 2021, depending on how the roster shapes out & how they play, are.
RBs Raheem Mostert, & Jeff Wilson Jr.
WRs Mohamed Sanu Sr., Trent Sherfield, Richie James Jr., & Travis Benjamin
TEs MyCole Pruitt & Ross Dwelley
LG Laken Tomlinson
DE Arden Key
DT Maurice Hurst Jr.
NTs D.J. Jones, & Zach Kerr
CBs Jason Verrett, & K'Waun Williams
FS Tarvarius Moore
SS Jaquiski Tartt
Then the notable RFAs and ERFAs
WR Jauan Jennings
C Daniel Brunskill
DT Kevin Givens
SLB Azeez Al-Shaair
So, yeah, nowhere near as bad as 2021, I would like to see them bring back Mostert or Wilson, and Laken, but I think the Sermon/Mitchell picks make at least 1 of the backs expendable, and Jaylon Moore or Colton McKivitz could take over at LG next year.
The guys I want back the most, again depending on play, are Verrett, K'Waun, & Jones. I hope they re-sign Moore to a 1yr deal. Also if Key & Hurst play well, I'd bring them back. I'd also have no issue with Pruitt or Dwelley back.
