We have 4 players on the roster that all ran about the same time in the 40 (4.36-4.40) Stribling, Pearsall, Watkins and Cowing. All of them are now or have been injured and haven't been able to show much. At least we know Cooks can produce if he can stay on the field.

If you call 200 yards production… that's his season average the last 4 years

For a 4th or 5th receiver, that isn't bad.

Who's ahead of him now? Evans, Samuel, maybe Hodges? Cooks will probably be our #2 receiver by mid season

I think Kirk is back around the Seattle game, but yeah its looking like number 2.
Do we know yet whether or not Cooks is going to play this week?

Sounds like he is not, which is expected on short time

Just saw this article. Looks like you were right. Cooks won't play. Watkins is getting a shot & Evans is expected to play which is great news.

Veteran Brandon Cooks signed with the 49ers' practice squad this week, but he will not be in uniform on Sunday. Instead, the 49ers plan to go with second-year receiver Jordan Watkins, a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"This is a huge opportunity," Shanahan said of Watkins on 49ers Game Plan. "He just came into my office a couple weeks ago asking what he could do to get this opportunity.

"And I said, 'Well, you got to be ready for when someone has an injury.' And we got it about two days later, and here he is. So he's been working hard for this opportunity. I think he's going to play real well for us and I'm excited to get him out there."

Mike Evans, who is listed as questionable with a hip condition, is expected to be one of five receivers active for Sunday's game, along with Deebo Samuel, KhaDarel Hodge, Jacob Cowing and Watkins.

He's not hurt, Watkins just made a case for himself in Shanahan's office to get a shot instead of Cooks.

Just his feelings...

Good chance he plays next week if Evans remains hurt
Hopefully, he can cook against Den

he was just brought on there is a bit of a ramp up period for him to learn the offense he has been in this system before but id imagine it takes more than a few days.

I think he will play next week though with Watkins
Now we need him against Denver. Hopefully he can get up to speed quick.

He was just elevated. Sounds like Evans is not a go?

I think we cut Hodge who has a knee issue.
Let's hope they can squeeze any last bit of juice out of him and Judon
