I wish we had a young Gore on Kyle's current team. Kyle would be winning so many Superbowls. Maybe Kaelon is that young Gore that this offense needs. I so look forward to seeing him and also finally see Jordan James play too in the preseason.

My guess is cause of his speed. Black has really nice burst and agility but not top end speed. You know how the draft works - workout numbers are critical for "potential". I disagree with that but it's part of the traditional evaluation. Black also wasn't a "starter", he shared the backfield.

I still think it's surprising but I think that's probably why he was an after thought.

That's one of the reasons I initially panicked when the 49ers drafted him. He wasn't invited to the combine and he was in the dreaded annual drafted RB bust pick of Kyle Shanahan. On top of that I haven't even seen last years drafted RB pick play to make my own evaluations, so I thought Jordan James must have been a bust also. Knowing what I know now, I think (on paper) it's a brilliant pick.

What I will say - is there is a chance CMC will miss time/games. That's not definitive but very possible. So having black and James is nice. I like both of them, TBH. I was hoping to see James last year.

They both make me think they can easily get 4 yards a clip. The way they run. They can both catch. Both pass block. I think we are in good hands with CMC, black, and James. I like that trio. Kyle just needs to use them properly.

im not saying their going to be as awesome as gore was, he was special, but their game reminds me of how he ran.

It's absolutely inexplicable. How tf do we expect this to help us compete with Seattle? HOW??

Kyle is a genius. Don't worry, for reasons not his fault we will not win again next season.

Kyle is arrogant and despite being wrong over and over with his rd 1-3 draft picks, he thinks he will 'win' this time. He's like a gambler losing his bets but he's sure that this time he will win. Black probably would have been available in rd 5, could have definitely picked in rd 4. Should have traded back and picked up another 2027 pick etc

Arrogant gamblers like Kyle need to be stopped from ruining the team by the owner (Jed) bringing in a good draft GM

Bud Clark right there for the taking at a position of need and we draft a RB.

Thats what all the fuss was about, plus he wasn't invited to the combine for some reason.

We traded out of pick 58, to the Browns, so they could select EWM. We had a chance to get one of the safeties (outside of the top first round ones) and chose not to.

idk why, maybe they really like Sigle? Or didn't think much of those guys? Idk. I was sorta disappointed with that though

Maybe they didn't like the safeties, but that is no excuse for reaching at 90. Should have traded back and picked up extra picks later.
Instead of reaching, you trade down and pick up extra draft picks to use for trades or next year

It's only a reach relative to non nfl team draft boards.

we have no idea how teams ranked him or where. Who really wanted him, who didn't.

My personal opinion, we probably took him a little early. He may of been available with one of our fours, who knows.

im sure getting other teams big boards is highly sought after information, we don't know if teams get info on others. I'm sure they get some though.

my issue isn't that the pick is a "reach". I'm just tired of us taking RBs with valuable picks and never using them. So hopefully black is the outlier out of our recent RB picks and balls out. As long as he balls for us, no one will give a f**k. Especially since most players taken after him will most likely never amount to anything.

just like 2023 draft, all the good players were gone before our first pick at 87. Every one selected after that hasn't amounted to much of anything. At least none have made a pro bowl. Might be a couple quality starters in there.

I think I will wait to see if we can muster 12 wins or more again with a healthy and replenished roster instead the the MASH unit we rolled out last year before I complain. Yes we got whooped by SEA but we did roll out dudes fresh off the street as well so with a healthy and replenished roster I think we have a fighting chance

FG should have been a 1st ballot HOFer

I haven't seen Black or Jordan play yet, so I'm looking forward to preseason to see what everyone sees about both of them.

As for injuries, it seems every year we're one of the most injured teams in the NFL. I'm thinking they should just trade down the day one draft picks every year (like this last draft) just to load up on day two and day three draft picks so we have enough bodies to sacrifice to the 49er annual injury bug feeding frenzy.

That's because for the last 10 seasons, we've almost always been top 5 In injuries. to make matters worse, we tend to lose key players to major innjries,
not role players.

Kyle did say that James was making progress towards getting snaps last year. He got injured sometime early in the season, I don't remember if it was training camp or pre season. So James was behind in that regard.

based on James college play, he reminded me a lot of gores running style. Hopefully he can become half the player gore was.

our running back room (CMC/black/James) lacks speed though. It's unlikely any of those three will take it 75 yards to the house - they most likely can't out run the defense. All our speed is at the WR position.
