So what game do you think we will get our first interception?

Last play of the Super Bowl, a la Malcolm Butler.

Going into this game we had lost 22 straight games when we were underdogs by a TD or more. By the point spread this was our biggest upset since 2011 when we upset the Eagles on the road with Harbaugh.

And this is why PFF is such a joke. These are their "worst" graded performers on defense for the Rams game.
- Dee Winters, LB, 29.2, 68 snaps
- Jordan Elliott, DT, 29.4, 40 snaps
- CJ West, DT, 29.8, 28 snaps
- Marques Sigle, SS, 33.0, 68 snaps
- Upton Stout, CB, 34.7, 38 snaps
Jordan Elliot is the one who blocked the extra point that would have given the Rams the win at the end of regulation. Marques Sigle was instrumental in making the 4th down stop that won the game. Those plays alone put them among the game's stars. Oh, yeah, they also said Brian Robinson was one of the team's highest graded players. It really is just laughable how they judge these things.
blindly taking a crap on pff because some plays were made is even more ridiculous.
because a DT blocked an XP you automatically think he should have a good grade or something ? it really doesnt work this way...while I cant speak for their numeric grades, as individual players I agree that almost all of these had subpar games. I will have to rewatch CJ Wests tape.
It's a matter of perspective. Sports in general, and football in particular, is an arena where games can be won or lost on a single play. If Jordan Elliott doesn't block that PAT, the 49ers probably lose that game, which makes it, literally, one of the most important moments of the game, next to Collins' punch out. But according to PFF he "earned" one of the lowest grades on defense. He made the play that helped save the game, what he accomplished on those other 39 plays is somewhat less important when viewed through that lens. And as for Brian Robinson, again, he was one of PFF's highest rated offensive players for that game, but other than give McCaffery a couple of plays off I don't know that he had a particularly significant impact on the outcome, so does the fact that PFF graded him out as one of the highest rated players that night really mean anything?
In the broader context, I guess having some subjective assessments (subjective mind you, not objective) about who won what rep in what position battle might be useful information for teams to have, especially if they're looking at it in the relation to another team's players. But I'm pretty sure that if an NFL team has a player in OTA's and training camp and preseason and into the regular season, they probably have a pretty good idea of how he's performing within their scheme, and how often he's winning his position battles based on what they're asking of him.
Kudos to PFF for developing something that they've convinced all of the teams in the NFL they need. It's an example of American entrepreneurship at its finest; like selling widgets. But, in my opinion, it's just kind of silly. But that's just my opinion. You're all free to disagree with it.

I'm thinking Chubb or Phillips from Miami but both are injury prone. The DE from the Giants possibly
I may be wrong but IIRC, Phillips was someone they liked in the 2021 Draft. And he fits the 4-3 Defense.
True. Came out of UCLA my Alma mater 🧑🎓

This quote is how a lot of people feel, even if they won't admit it.
Both of these can be true:
1. Kyle, when not under pressure, is a God (who is at times stubborn to a fault, loyal to a fault, and for some reason hates the idea of a good O line).
2. Kyle, with the game on the line, is a liability. Not trying to win the game in regulation with 0:58 left was the wrong call. He keeps making the wrong calls in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.
I hope he fixes this flaw while he's here, but it doesn't look like he will, because he is so good at every other part of the game that he still wins a ton of games despite this flaw. But just like last night, it's going to surface again, and again. Look, Belichick got better, Reid got better, but they had to get fired first. It's going to piss me off when Shanny wins a Superbowl with a different team because it took him getting fired to figure this thing out.

It was only the 2nd quarter but i tend to agree... so I get so frustrated with Kendrick Bourne.

Is the announcer Al Michaels watching the game with his phone? He butchered two exciting plays for the 49ers defense - the Collins strip and the final play. He's cooked and should call it career.

Yeah I was reading the NFL Reddit after the game and there were a lot of post calling him out. I'm not hating on the guy as we're all eventually going to get old but it's clear that he's slipping a little.
