Honestly with all of these offensive tackle signings; 3 in a week, is starting to make me worry about Trent retiring a la Joe Staley

Seriously. Some people just want people being miserable.
If it happens it happens and we deal with it. We had Willis retire and then found out his replacement was retiring a week later.
Draft is over. There is no reason for the team to hide if Trent is planning on retiring so these moves are simply vet depth and considering everyone was complaining about us not addressing OT enough then what's the issue? We definitely needed a swing OT.
Also…when Joe Staley retired we traded for Trent Williams and then drafted McKivitz. We didn't wait til the late 7th round to draft our first OLman who was only going to play G and then signed depth OTs.

Just being honestHow often do you see a team signing 3 offensive tackles in a week?
Many teams sign these types of FAs after the draft when they know what roster spots available.
Quick tell me who our OTs were not named Trent Williams or Colton McKivitz?

Bro you guys getting waaaay too defensive over this lol. All I said was that I was worried about it; am I not entitled to feel how I do? We all gotta feel the same way? It happened this way very similarly to when we got Trent and had no idea Staley was retiring. Crazy around here sometimes how triggered people get if we all aren't seeing rainbows and singing kumbaya.

TW won't retire right now. But he is getting older and more injured. The 49ers as of right now at least don't have a succession plan for him. It's always 1 more year, 1 more year. Eventually that will run out and soon. Can they get this year out of him? Probably so. He's typically injured a few games. So I hope they have some good backup swing Tackles. This idea that he is going to play to 40 is probably a pipe dream though. He's close now to that. But there is a big drop off with line play. It's not like playing QB past 40. He really needs to be replaced pretty soon.

Hey maybe I'm worried for nothing. Forget it; don't want any more pitchforks because I guess that makes me miserable or others miserable. I've just never seen any team sign 3 OTs in this short amount of time; ever, when there wasn't an injury or something of sort.

Honestly I was responding more to someone playing that drum on Twitter earlier. Sorry if it made you feel like you can't give your thoughts. You're welcome to do so. I just don't think there is reason for concern given the situation but you never know.

Appreciate the apology man. All good. I probably am worried for nothing; Trent just got me on egg shells because of his age, the amount of games he misses every year and most importantly, how much we freaking need him. I feel so much better when he's our LT on game days lol

Honestly if we had in inclination (or worse) Trent was retiring I guarantee we trade up and get a tackle in the draft.
Obviously anything can happen but I highly doubt this has anything to do with Trent possibly retiring

If Trent was retiring they would have forced an OT pick/trade up in the draft for an OT at some point. He ain't retiring.
The multiple OT signings are basically to offset that the 49ers didn't draft any tackles or even sign any as UDFAs.

Players can opt to retire at any time without the team knowing. And it is a legit concern when a team does sign three OT's.
