Its Georgia. Their DL rotation is usually very heavy, meaning guys don't usually rack up massive stats. Jalen Carter never had more than 3 sacks. Travon Walker never had more than 6 sacks.

Feels like a panic pick to fill a need.

Total reach

niners coulda gotten him in the 3rd round

They do that most years under Shany / Lynch. I hate these guys so much. Got to get rid of them both.

This is the same type of pick we made in round 2 after we traded all our first round picks for Trey Lance.

Tf yall talking about can get him in the 3rd rd? And a reach? Guaranteed he was gone soon after if we passed, yall just try to find anything to b***h and moan about

So you love the pick at #11? Is he a plug and play player that makes us better day 1?

I guess we will see, I guess he's just not what I was expecting at #11.

He's absolutely a plug and play guy and will make us better.

Yes. Lol we are now a better team. No doubt, we have a young player with a high motor who can play run defense at a high level and solid pass rusher (with tremendous raw ability) who is 20.

you can tell who understands football by who judges if someone is good solely off of a "sack" stat - no even accounting for scheme, how teams played them etc.
Great pick and a good mix of proven and potential.

Some people had him as the #1 prospect heading into this draft class heading into this past college season.

Odds are if he doesn't hurt his ankle he's going top 10.

Young, proven for a big program and with great intangibles per all accounts and clearly a great fit per Saleh and Coach K. I'm excited to see him grow as a player for us.

Now let's add more trenches moving forward.

Great another injury riddled project bust

What do you back that opinion up with?

Javon kinlaw vibes all day. No production or pass rush skill set. Young high ceiling high bust chance. Woulda went with Warren but they panicked and drafted need

Seriously, people have got to be high to think he'd be available in the 3rd round.

I wanted Walker, but this was an excellent pick.

College teams can have crazy deep rotations. Many guys don't even get enough reps to get an opportunity for 10 sacks. You gotta look at win rate, edge setting, tackles for loss, etc. Sacks as an isolated stat won't reveal much about a player.

WTF are you talking about about. Smith didnt play end whose primary role is pass rushing...

This dudes not magically going to double or triple his sack production in the NFL.

He got 4.5 sacks, 4.5 sacks and 5 sacks in college.

He didn't even improve after 3 years...

Everybody high as hell on this pick its just like the lance pick. All potential no production.

Nick Bosa had 4 sacks, 5 sacks, and 8.5 sacks in college…. Man it would be nice if he was ever able to improve and double/triple his stats :/ what a terrible pick. He was just an injury prone loser who could only play run defense :/
Love the size and speed. Arm length is crazy. The injury and lack of pass rush skills are concerning. Gotta coach him up. I preferred Walker who is a much more polished pass rusher. But he's undersized for the niners liking. The love long armed de's and tackles
Following the Eagles formula

He was talking about your injury riddled comment. What facts do you have to back that he's injury riddled.

I don't believe it, the first "bust". Shake my damned head.
Jalon Walker is 6'1" and 243 pounds. He's going to get pushed around. William's is a much better prospect.
We needed to stop the run and this is his strength. Sacks may come. We couldn't continue being near last stopping the run. He is what we needed.

The more I look into him - he's an exciting player. He was a very good player in college. He is only considered "raw" in some aspects cause of his insane athleticism and physique. He was a stud in college and very effective - he's only 20 and having bosa one the edge should help him a lot.
