The defense has plenty of talent. Most defenses don't have 2 all pros and we have 3. Plus we have Law coming back which will be huge even if he's not 100% it's still better than Cambell.

Probably not if we were beating these horrible teams, but we lost to the Cards and the Rams, so anything is on the table now.

Not unrealistic for the team, as the team is running the scheme that he implemented, but unrealistic for him to move his familly across the country

I secretly feel like this was the move all along. Promote some no name guy (Soreinsun) to hold it down or fail and wait for Salad to get fired. It's easier to crush a guys hopes and dreams like Soreinsun and move on quickly than a new external hire. I agree with this conspiracy and move. Go get Salad to save us

In all seriousness, if he doesn't get another coaching job, it's a no brainer to bring him back next year if things don't significantly improve on D here.

I am kinda shocked the Jet's fired him mid-season....either way....the 49ers need to bring him in...hell Shanny should have had this conversation 2 years ago with Saleh.

I would not even be remotely concerned about how it makes any coach on the staff look, the proof is in the results....clearly this team needs help.

Has externally hiring an OC/DC midseason ever worked out? I can think of examples where shifting things around internally midseason has worked, but idk if doing something like this externally would work… he was here four years ago but I have to think the defense has changed at least a bit.

I'm not a fan of mid season changes either but Saleh has been here before and the 49ers still run essentially the same defense.
