Gross. Why the f**k would you do that?

Lapse of judgment
I'll be the first to admit I overestimated the Packers on here leading up to that game. I thought we would blow them out. It didn't happen. However, it is easy to diagnose what went wrong. Purdy looked rusty AF. I think not playing in the final regular season game and having the bye week affected him. That coupled with the rain was a disaster scenario. Then Deebo getting hurt on the third offensive snap didn't make things any easier. I just think the team in general was flat. Whether it be the bye or rain, it was clearly affecting them. We had defenders slipping around in coverage. Yet, we still are alive. I don't look back at that game and see anything that makes me think we still aren't a dominate football team. Nothing from that game worries me going forward. We got the job done. Wasn't pretty but I actually think we needed that kind of game as a team.

Going into this Detroit NFCCG, I'm VERY confident we will get the job done. My thoughts:

I think Detroit is a talented team that can obviously play with anyone. As evident by their win vs KC. They have a good offensive scheme and have drafted pretty well. However, digging deeper into evaluation, this is a matchup that I think we can exploit in MULTIPLE fashions. First of all, Detroit's defensive unit overall is one of the worst in the league. Their run numbers are good on the surface but teams have been torching them through the air. Detroit has given up 716 yards (358 per game) through the air in their two postseason games. That is absolutely horrendous. Detroit played Minnesota twice in the final two weeks and gave up 411 and 396 yards passing respectively in those two games against Nick Mullens. Like wow. 817 yards in two weeks combined. Deebo or no Deebo, Purdy is going to shred these guys up. The run defense numbers are pretty good but it is partly because so many teams are attacking them through the air. For example, in week 4 GB only ran 12 times against them and love threw it 36 times. I think Kyle will be able to scheme up some McCaffrey runs and hurt Detroit in the run game.

Then you look at Detroit on offense and they have a solid passing attack with a two back approach. Their run game is solid (top 5 in yards and YPC). The offensive line is one of the best (if not best) in the league. However, the starting LG is now going to miss the game and the C Ragnow had knee and ankle injuries yesterday. I think Detroit is going to try and come in and control the clock by running it. If we can have success early stopping the run then Goff is going to have to start throwing more which plays into our hands. Hargrave and even Kinlaw should have a field day on the interior. I would almost bet that Shanahan has Ward locked on St. Brown all throughout.

I think you see a team hungry to get to the SB and have one of their better performances of the year. I honestly think this is going to be a blowout. Big time. I don't think Detroit breaks the 20 point barrier and we will AT LEAST get 30. I want to say 40 but ill go with a 38-17 49ers win.

Gotta be honest....

I don't hate the Lions, but I want a blow out in this one after what transpired this weekend.

Need a healthy level of confidence and intimidation going to Vegas.
Media totally discounting the rain factor in the GB game.

Got to see Brock be clutch from behind with a TD or season is over drive.

I dont care that he threw the ball poorly most of the game vs GB because IT WAS IN THE RAIN.

It's not raining again this season. Sunday will be clear skies and SB in a dome.

Only thing that concerns me is the Ravens D and Mahomes.

I actually am happy for the lions and Goff. It's a great underdog story but it's time for it to end, sorry Lions. Lol also, Gardner is running his mouth like the eagles - big mistake.

i expect a f**kin BEATDOWN. A statement game going into the Super Bowl. Can't wait

Yeah, whoever we play in the super bowl is going to be a tough tough matchup but I'm riding with our boys till it's over. I believe.

We exorcised some demons on that last drive. Next Sunday will be warm and dry. The fans will be 97%+ Niner fans, we'll have had a rest advantage and a health advantage (assuming Deebo plays).

My bigger concerns are our run defense and ST.

ST is simple. Kick the damn ball out the endzone.

Offense is going to score all day long. They won't have time to run the ball. Sometimes the best defense is a great offense 😈.

we've had some uncharacteristic games (baltimore and Green Bay). Time to get back to what we usually do.
