I'm not. Not with the draft coming and on paper, far more dominant D-line play,as well as an offense that will force more teams to play from behind.

Yeah, not a ton of starting spots left. It's time to go quality over quantity.

I'm hoping ShanaLynch considers *durability* as well as talent level. I'm sure they do, though, given some of the talented 49er free agents the let go of this year (McGlinchy) being one of them. He was good, but often injured. Example of *durability* but not exactly a talent but because he was durable, he developed under good coaching. That guy is Jake Brendel. So, while a trade up is definitely an option for the OLine squad, I hope they go more in the Jake Brendel direction i.e. maybe a 3rd round or 4th round talent but first round in durability like Brendel.

So far, the FO continues to bring in players with an injury history still. But those remain calculated risks for reduced prices. But it won't help our overall injury history, most likely.

I agree with quality, but history has shown they get GREAT quality with those late picks, so I'm not expecting a bunch of scrubs. Its also why I don't want them to trade up. I just don't see the loss of two draft picks worth moving up 10 - 20 spots. Let the scouts and FO really show how great they are. I've already named 10 possible openings, so those picks are needed.

I am beginning to like the dart board approach. Throw as many darts as possible and even if a third hits, we will have 4 winners.

I doubt we end up with a Ingram, would be nice.

Note that Dwelley is GTD $700K, and DFF $1.25M GTD. I like the roster though, we'll see what happens. Love that we landed Hargrave, been saying we'd do a splash signing on Twitter, but didn't expect Hargrave, had to double take, I thought it was fake, some fake account, glad he signed here. Also I think Brock begins on PUP.
My complete 53 projection.

QB: Trey, & Darnold (I have Purdy on PUP or IR to begin)

RB/FB: CMC, Juice, Mitchell, Mason, & TDP

WR: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jauan, Ray-Ray, & Gray

TE: Kittle, Dwelley($700K GTD says he's #2 right now), & Woerner

Starting OL: Trent, Banks, Brendel, Burford, & McKivitz

Bench OL: Feliciano, Zakelj, Pryor, & Poe

DE: Bosa, Jackson, Ferrell, Bryant($550K GTD says he makes it), & Barrett

DT/NT: Armstead, Hargrave, Givens, Kinlaw, Davis & McGill

LB: Fred, Dre, Burks, DFF($1.25M GTD), & McCrary-Ball

CB: Ward, Lenoir, Oliver, Womack, Ambry, & Knight

S: Gipson, Hufanga, Odum, Hartsfield

ST: Zane, Wish, & Pepper

This is with no picks included, I see us taking a RT, FS, EDGE, and depth/ST guys.

My man!

Yeah, Melvin isn't likely but every day his price is dropping. His spot is more likely Hyder or Bryant, like you noted.

Right? Hargrave was a dream signing. To get a top 3 interior pass rusher was huge.

Brock on the PUP? That conservative but very possible. We should know more come June.

Yeah, I don't disagree on any of your current 53. I only anticipate 5 draft picks making the 53.

I think this is close, but Barrett, Poe, Knight, will be on the PS. Probably McCrary-Ball, too.

This should make the best use of draft picks:

QBs (3): Lance, Darnold, Purdy (probably start on PUP, so would need to add a player)
RBs (5): CMC, Mitchell, TDP, Mason
TE (4): Kittle, Dwelley, Woerner, DRAFT PICK
OL (9): Williams, Banks, Brendel, Burford, McKivitz, Feliciano, Zakelj, Pryor, DRAFT PICK
WR (5): Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, McCloud, Gray
DL (10): Bosa, Ferrell, Jackson, Bryant, DRAFT PICK, Hargrave, Armstead, Givens, Kinlaw, Davis/McGill/DRAFT PICK
LB (5): Warner, Greenlaw, DFF, Burks, DRAFT PICK
CB (5): Ward, Lenoir, Oliver, Womack, Thomas/DRAFT PICK
S (4): Gipson, Hufanga, Odom, Hartsfield/DRAFT PICK
ST (3) Gonzales, Wishnowski, Pepper

How ya been brother?

Anyway, yeah the price is dropping day by day, I had someone ask me on Twitter privately if the guys would cost less after the draft, answer is yes, pricing going down for guys like Ingram, Clowney(Not a fan), and Yannick(who I want).

I didn't see Hargrave coming, I saw like a $13M a yr guy, not $21M a yr, so I'm happy.

Yeah Brock on PUP only for now, if he can throw the ball well enough, he begins on the 53, he needs to be 100% though.

Can't wait to see who we draft, I agree like only 5 picks make it, maybe 6-7 if we see someone outplay another player.

I agree with this, Barrett on PS, Knight likely too. But I think McCary-Ball signing a regular deal, not a reserve/future deals says a lot, plus it took a bit to sign him.

I think we keep 10-11 DL, I think Kalia Davis is a guy to look out for, same with McGill, will be a battle for sure.

I was wondering when you were going to jump in.

Great!

Yeah, getting another ER would be nice. Who wouldn't want to join this group? They could get a big contract next year.

I don't think anybody saw Hargrave coming! I can't wait to see this defense.

Agree with Brock. The June assessment will tell us everything.

Cracking the 53 will be hard but I do anticipate almost all 11 either making it or to the PS per usual.

Agreed 100% with everything you said NC. Like I said, I saw a splash signing, maybe EDGE, like a Zach Allen, but not Hargrave, the top ranked FA by NFL Network, boy am I happy, and can't wait to see this defense.

DE: Bosa
DT: Armstead
NT: Hargrave
DE: Jackson/Ferrell
WLB: Greenlaw
MLB: Warner
SLB: Flannigan-Fowles/McCrary-Ball
CB: Ward
CB: Lenoir
NB: Oliver
FS: Gipson
SS: Hufanga

Still seems like a top 5 defense at worst.

Don't get me wrong, I wish we could have kept Azeez, but I'm happy for him to get a chance to be THE GUY, he earned it, and deserves it.

Yeah, that absolutely should be a top 5 defense. No doubt.

I mean, no FO has committed more money and resources to one position group over a regime in NFL history. You'd THINK we'd at least considered the possibility. Nope. Hahahaha!

I think that preseason last year left a bad taste in people's mouths. I'm optimistic he can be a backup.

I'm hoping he can become a good backup T/G, but it's rough, he hasn't played great or good TBH, needs to beat out Pryor, and a potential rookie for the Swing T spot.
