That was a TD without that hustle. Saw 2 blocker with only a cb about 8-10 yards downfield.

Yep, so far in 2 games Drake has been mostly outstanding. He's getting good pass rush and has been disruptive.

he's been the best DL for the last 2 games.. I saw him run down a ball carrier late in the game and that's a sign of " wanting it " !!

Noticed that play, really impressive. I think he took the outside loop to the QB, pressured then ran down the field to make the tackle

The second year jumps from our second round draft picks in back to back years is sick. First Banks and now Drake Jackson

Pressure on Brown?

If Drake holds up we have a 2nd round pick streak. Deebo, Banks, and Drake. There was no 2nd rounder in 2020 (traded up and used to grab Aiyuk).

The last 2 weeks have shown why the context of those week 1 sacks mattered. Those types of low-quality sacks aren't sustainable and can't be relied upon. Drake is still struggling to win his one-on-ones. That's where the biggest growth will occur. I will note that continues to play with incredible effort, which is a testament to the strength and conditioning work he put in the offseason. He should be able to capitalize on clean up/effort opportunities if he maintains that type of effort. Let's hope he doesn't fade as the season goes on.

But Drake IS winning his matchups. The whole d line is. Notice how there are almost no completions over 20 yards against the defense? It's because the QB is being hurried on every pass and needs to get rid of it quick.

Yup...our win rate as a D-line is near 80%. Both Stafford and Jones, but especially Stafford were getting the ball out quick.

Good Post Hero... I know your intent is to not be negative on Drake...and I agree with you on his strengths....

He is not prime Nick Bosa, but the dude is getting QB hits, QB pressures....heck he is even being chipped and doubled now. The Rams doubled him over Bosa on a few downs...

We all know 3 sacks a game is un-sustainable for EVERY defender that has ever played in the NFL....but that game does show us a facet of Drake's game.

You can't win every pass rushing down in under 3 seconds. The best that has Ever been has shown that.

What Drake has shown, is that he is not useless if he can't win his one on one. THAT is a quality all on its own. We know he will attempt to get his hands up and effect a pass, and we also know he can stay on his feet (looking at you Nick Bosa) and chase a play down from behind or get a clean up sack.

Motor

The dude has a motor. He will play till the whistle .

I'm not talking about the DL as a unit. I'm isolating Drake Jackson in one-on-one situations, and in those situations, he's simply not consistently winning his matchups. That's not subjective--that's a objective. Watch the tape. I watch every single DL snap. He's still sporadic with his hands and struggles with the timing of his hands and marrying them with his feet. He spams his spin move without setting it up with speed, which is an easy block for an NFL tackle. He's just a young guy trying to find his way, and that's exactly who I expected him to be this year. As I mentioned, he's still finding a way to produce with effort, but if he wants to become an impact pass rusher, he needs to win his one-on-one matchups. That's where the big boys separate from the crowd.
