The personnel is overrated. They've missed on too many draft picks, and right now we don't have a playoff caliber QB on the roster. THAT is the main problem. It affects how Shanahan calls games, how teams defend us, it's a trickle down effect.

So Shanahan can't call the game the way he wants because his QB is below average and he missed on too many draft picks? Seems like Shanahan has nobody to blame but himself. Don't forget he also doesn't use what he has just keeps shoving the same s**t out on the field.

Shanahan's had 5 seasons to get the QB position how he wants it. And the worst part is it probably isn't going to get there next year with lance either.

Thinking about this rationally, what we need right now, is

1) to bring in a couple of "special assistants" and maybe analytics to take charge of the db room. That is single handedly killing us this season. We're in unchartered territory for PI. Don't know who's available but we need help bad and some good ideas for the next game,

2) We need to supplement Kocurek with a special assistant to brainstorm how to generate a pass rush with the people we have. Our whole d is premised on getting real pressure and we have not done that. We need to start giving other looks on 1st 2nd down because the wide 9 aint doin it any more.

3) We need to go all in on ONE QB for the rest of the season and that JG. Trey will lose more games than jimmy and get killed in the process. We need to send trey to quarterback sleepaway camp and hire a vet retread to be the #2 the rest of the season. Someone that can give us a boost when Jimmy is mentally too messed up to play.
