Did Shanalynch gamble on losing Buckner fail?

In my opinion, even with a healthy Bosa, the defensive line was compromised by losing Buckner.
Keeping Buck wasn't an option for the long haul
Bruckner is gone. It's over. Gotta let it go. Hes a colt now.

It's really quite sad. lol
the hell we were going to predict losing Bosa and Thomas in the same game to justify keeping Buck
You know Buckner needed a new contract, right? It wasnt a straight up trade.
what is the point of this thread when it wasnt made at the time of the trade and only after unexpected injuries have happened? lol.

Thomas making up the slack was a longshot. They were hoping rotating him and Kinlaw would equal Buck.

What's not being discussed is what the demands of DBucks agent was. In think he wanted a payout the team could not afford especially after the AA extension. We probably had too many pro bowlers who's talent and contracts came due at once and the 1st round pick and who was available in the draft made it a decent risk.

I would have liked to see if we could franchise him for a year to make another run at the SB. The jury is still out on Kinlaw and the reviews are positive. Hoping these extra reps allows him to figure it out fast. Wasn't Donald picked later in the 1st ?
