back to Richie James as our return man

Son of a b***h, I am sick and tired of watching this guy do absolutely nothing on returns. He's the biggest chump I've ever seen, fair catching or running out of bounds all the time. Austin in my opinion would've made the return game dynamic and pushed us over the top because of that very reason.

Me comparing Richie James and Tavon Austin's return stats
meh. he wasn't gonna bring much to the table.

Very true. The X to stretch the field here and there, bring Aiyuk along and return punts. Bummer.

Unreal the 2 burners they brought in to do this are both down with knee injuries

The four fastest WRs can't or won't practice right now: Aiyuk, Austin, JJNelson, Travis Benjamin (opt out). Who's the next fastest guy? Sit him.

Seriously and the one who left, Goodwin also opted out. Geesh.

It's comical how all of a sudden Austin And Nelson are great players that the niners will miss. but when they were healthy they were probably called scrubs. It's so hilarious.

Who said they were great players? Seriously, who here said they were great?

We know this guys agenda by now. At the very most people said he was a very good return specialist which he is. I would've liked to have him return punts and kicks however maybe this will force Dante to assume that role (PR)even though James Junior has it.

After all Dante Pettis was all time leading punt returner in college football history with 9 ! The boy has such good moves it's ridiculous

Been a while since he's been above average at returns my man. When he entered the league he was pretty dynamic but the last few years he wishes he was as good as Richie James.

You can't be serious can you? James is nothing compared to Austin. The stats might show that James passes the eye test but it's completely obvious that Austin has much much better speed and much much better wiggle. I would think 90% of all 49er fans would agree that we are sick and tired of him fair catching the ball or running out of bounds.

I'll take Dante Pettis right now even if he has no contact courage at least he has the ability to do more than fair catch or run out of balance. I have a high standard for special teams and winning teams usually have a good returner
