That's the public explanation, but I'm not sure I buy that Paraag wanted to step away from a $10 billion+ premier NFL franchise so that he could focus on some middling soccer clubs. He's being fired, but the Yorks respect his years of service doing their dirty work so they're calling it something else.

The Yorks are probably the ones that floated him as a candidate for MLS commissioner, but when Paraag publicly withdrew himself from consideration they banished him to Scotland.

I thought he was a top three finalist as Soccer Comossioner. Does this leave mean it's coming? I haven't heard anything else about it in over a week that he was one of three last standing.

He removed his name from consideration, probably because this other move was in the works.

Paraag wasn't fired. But there was a feeling that a change was beneficial. And the Yorks accomplished this goal in a classy and respectful way. So kudos to them.

I think AB81 can and should write a seperate thread on all the various secret charms, tips tricks, legal hoodoo and binding clauses that Paraag pioneered over the (many) years he was san fran's chief negotiator. There were many interesting ideas I am sure.

But at the end of the day, for some reason that we could speculate on but won't, the negotiations turned overly rancorous too many times with franchise quality players.

Why? Maybe AB can offer some opinions and observations.

I would still take him back in a heart beat. But I am the type that would employ O.J, A. Hernandez, and anyone else that could actually play regardless of criminality, off the field issues, or beliefs (Bosa). I am what you call a "win at all costs" fan also known as a POS fan in churches and courtrooms LOL.

"Winning at all costs" loses its steam when the player in question who's not a very big WR to begin with main strengths (outside of consistent hands) is precise route running and footwork suffers an ACL & PCL tear. I'd be willing to tolerate his clown attitude if he had top 3-5 potential, but he wasn't ever that, even when he was healthy. Aiyuk is cooked and a clown.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying but if you told me Aiyuk is healthy and can contribute, I really don't care that he said some mean stuff on Instagram. I just want to win a Superbowl again, by any means necessary

If he could "contribute" he would be posting workout vids like he used to pre injury. And even when he was healthy he still isn't going to be the difference between winning a Super Bowl and not. IMO rebuilding the offensive line should be the very first priority when it comes to that, but that's out of the question when it comes to Shanahan.
